Damon L. Davis, MA, associate director of alliance development at Novo Nordisk, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health care and entertainment.
With over fifteen years of experience, Mr. Davis has built a successful career in entertainment and health care, specializing in innovation, strategic communications, and business development. He currently excels as the associate director of alliance development at Novo Nordisk, a position he has held since 2020. In this role, he is responsible for building alliances with various organizations, engaging with communities of color, faith-based organizations, and civil rights groups, and advocating for legislative changes to address the impact of obesity while raising awareness and promoting change. His experience includes serving as the director of MetaPhase Consulting from 2019 to 2020, vice president of business partnerships at Elevation Health Consulting in 2019, chief technology officer and director of the health data initiative at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from 2013 to 2017, and special assistant for national coordination for health IT at HHS from 2009 to 2013. Throughout his career, he has contributed as the author of “Algorithmic Inequality,” hosted the podcast “Who Am I Really?” since 2017, and wrote “Who Am I Really: An Adoptee Memoir.” Additionally, he has dedicated his time as a volunteer and Capital Region Chapter President for the Gift of Adoption Fund since 2017.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Davis has received numerous honors, including the Angel in Adoption Award from the Congressional Committee on Adoption Institute in 2024, a Top Ten Podcast recognition in 2024, an Honor Award in 2023, a Top 20 Adoption Podcast accolade in 2021, and the Adoption Vanguard Award. He laid a solid educational foundation by earning a Bachelor of Science in business from Hampton University in 1994, a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland in 1996, and completing certificates in AI Revolution Marketing Accelerator in 2024 and Shane Snow on Storytelling from LinkedIn in 2019. Reflecting on his journey, he believes that the most fulfilling moments of his career are often personal achievements that may not receive public recognition. He prioritizes fulfillment beyond his job and has established a podcast as a safe platform for adopted individuals to share their experiences openly. Looking to the future, he also plans to finish writing his second book, which will be a comprehensive compilation of adoption stories and experiences from around 250 adoptees that will shed light on the distinctive journey of growing up in adoption. In advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes that you should ask every question that is on your mind and satisfy your curiosity, as well as explore more challenging things when you are young.
