Mikilisha Green, MBA, director and strategic research finance at MD Anderson Cancer Center, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
With two decades of experience, Ms. Green has built a successful career in finance, specializing in strategic financial research. She currently serves as the director of strategic research finance at MD Anderson Cancer Center, a position she has held since 2021, where she manages financial oversight for the division, including strategic research programs and project budgets. Her experience includes serving as finance manager at MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2018 to 2021 and as executive director at the University of Houston from 2015 to 2017. She has also held several other positions at MD Anderson Cancer Center, including management analyst from 2013 to 2015, clinical business manager from 2008 to 2013, and accountant from 2007 to 2008. She laid a solid educational foundation, earning a bachelor’s degree in social work from Prairie View A&M University in 1998 and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Southern University in 2007. Additionally, she is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Incorporated and dedicates time to Ladies of Integrity.
Reflecting on her journey, Ms. Green has always had a passion for finance and numbers. This passion guided her professional path, starting with temporary work that eventually led to a full-time accounting position at MD Anderson. She takes immense pride in her accomplishments, believing that as a Black woman, her career opportunities would be limited. Excelling in her current role, she came to realize her capabilities, opening up new possibilities and empowering her to aim for even greater success. As she looks toward retirement, she envisions a comfortable future. In advising aspiring professionals, she encourages others to maintain a curiosity for learning, to ask questions, and to seek a deeper understanding of their work in order to achieve broader goals while ensuring they remain passionate about what they do.
