She currently serves as the chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Big Sky Country, a position she has held since 2024. Her responsibilities include working closely with finance committees to ensure the sustainability of the organization and overseeing a team of nine staff members. In addition, she collaborates with the development manager to organize streaming and fundraising events that support their mission. Since 1973, Big Brothers Big Sisters has served thousands of local children in Southwestern Montana. The organization is deeply committed to the belief that every child can benefit from having a mentor, matching children from diverse backgrounds, including those in foster care, juvenile detention, and children with incarcerated parents, with volunteer mentors. Her experience also includes serving as the interim chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Big Sky Country in 2023 and chief operating officer from 2022 to 2023.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Berger was the adaptive sports director for Eagle Mount from 2014 to 2020, leading both the ski and cycling programs for individuals with disabilities, and taught math at an alternative school from 2008 to 2009. Additionally, she has dedicated her time to various organizations. She served as a volunteer manager at Bozeman Health from 2020 to 2022 and as a math and science teacher in Kenya from 2006 to 2008 with the Peace Corps, a volunteer program that sends Americans abroad to provide assistance in education, health, and community development in underserved regions around the world. She has also been actively involved as a volunteer with children’s schools and participated in the Bozeman Leadership Program, a community-focused initiative by the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce designed to develop leadership skills and promote civic engagement. Laying a solid educational foundation for her successes, she earned a bachelor’s degree in math and chemistry for secondary education from Montana State University in 2002 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Scranton in 2015. She also holds a teaching license for 5th-12th grade math and chemistry in Montana.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Berger takes great pride in her unwavering commitment to supporting children in the community. She attributes her success to being a lifelong learner, her openness and diverse approach to solving problems, as well as her determination to unite people for positive causes to help those in need and encourage youth to reach their full potential.
