Concurrently, he is active as a consultant and strategic account adviser for Forecast5 Analytics, through which he continues to influence educational systems with his expertise in public education and continuous improvement processes. Prior to these roles, he found success as the controller and general manager for Jefferson Smurfit Corporation from 1989 to 1993, the director of centralized support services at Riverside County Office of Education from 1997 to 2003, the assistant superintendent of business services at Redlands Unified School District from 2003 to 2009, and the chief business official and assistant superintendent at Hemet Unified School District from 2009 to 2018. Mr. Christakos began his career in the U.S. Army, serving his country as a major between 1974 and 1989.

Before embarking upon his professional path, Mr. Christakos earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and economics from the University of Tampa in 1973. He subsequently obtained a diploma in modern Greek language and literature from the Defense Language Institute in 1981 and a diploma in logistics, command and control, leadership, strategy, and tactics from the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College in 1986. Mr. Christakos concluded his formal academic studies at the University of Southern California in 1987, graduating with a Master of Science in systems management with a focus on information systems.

Mr. Christakos remains affiliated with several industry-related organizations, including ASBO International, AASA The School Superintendents Association, and the California Association of School Business Officials, for which he was appointed as president from 2014 to 2015. His commitment to community service is further exemplified by his involvement with Special Olympics. Attributing his success to his inimitable passion for his profession, his stellar endeavors were notably celebrated with the Distinguished Eagle Award from the Association of School Business Officials International in 2015. Looking toward the future, Mr. Christakos hopes to complete writing a book titled “VIP Leadership,” which aims to explore how effective leadership can drive meaningful change while witnessing his exceptional work in school facility renovation stand the test of time.
