Title: Director of Large Lodging Development
Company: Trimark-Adams-Burch
Location: Cheverly, Maryland, United States
Cornelius “Neal” Perry III, Director of Large Lodging Development at Trimark-Adams-Burch, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in sales.
Mr. Perry attributes his success to his strong work ethic, a trait ingrained in him by his family. As a young man, he worked three jobs during the summer to save money for college, going on to attend Howard University. He developed sales skills while employed at Supreme Life, a Black-owned insurance company specializing in debit insurance, an insurance that enables the holder to purchase policies in small increments, making life insurance policies accessible to those who could not otherwise afford them. By 1971, he had become a successful debit insurance salesman, mastering the art of collecting payments and selling new insurance to families. This experience instilled in him a great sense of discipline and played a significant role in his success as a salesman, earning him approximately $70,000 a year in the early 1970s.
Throughout his career, Mr. Perry achieved several significant accomplishments. After joining TriMark Adams-Burch in 1975, he successfully closed major deals with the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center and MGM National Harbor, significantly impacting the company’s successful relationship with the casino industry. In addition, he managed the restaurants of Jose Andres, a renowned celebrity chef and founder of World Central Kitchen, and managed the Knightsbridge group, a conglomerate owned by Ashok Bajaj, a prominent figure in the restaurant industry. These deals remain active and flourishing, contributing to his reputation as a sales expert. Inspired to share his life story and career successes, he authored a book titled “Journey in Sales,” in which he expresses gratitude to the owners of TriMark Adams-Burch, where he continues to serve as the director of large lodging development. Alongside his work at TriMark Adams-Burch, he is the owner of CJP Group, through which he provides consulting services.
Looking to the future, Mr. Perry intends to prepare for the next phase of his career. He is contemplating retirement, as 2025 marks his 50th year of service, and his granddaughter suggested he remain working so he can celebrate a full five decades of career success, which would serve as a testament to his guiding principle, “Never give up.”
