Her experience also includes roles as a treasury accountant at Intertek through Robert Half in 2019, senior accountant at Targa Gas through Lucas Group in Houston in 2018, and reconciliation accountant for SolomonEdwards on contract with Igloo in Houston in 2018. She also spent over a decade as a senior accountant at Diamond Offshore from 2004 to 2018, following roles as an accountant at AIG from 2000 to 2004 and at ACS Systems and Engineering from 1996 to 2000. She laid a solid educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Sam Houston State University in 1992, and a human leadership certification awarded by Erica Keswin in 2024.
Ms. McMurray also dedicates her time as zone chairman and elected director on the board of directors for the Texas Lions Camp for District 2-S2, Lions International District 2-S2, a position she has held since 2022. She serves as treasurer of the Cinco Ranch Lions Club, a role she has held since 2017, and has been a charter member of the club with Lions Clubs International since 2008. Her journey with the Lions Club began at age 11 when she attended the camp due to her arthritis, an experience that inspired her to join and support the organization to help other children access similar opportunities. In her role as elected director, which she holds for a two-year term, she visits Lions clubs within her district to promote the camp’s mission. Ms. McMurray has been honored with awards, including the Scholarship Award and Lion of the Year, for her service and dedication. Her past involvement also includes serving as a counselor in training (CIT) with Lions Clubs International, underscoring her long-standing commitment to giving back to her community.
Ms. McMurray attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family, embracing the mantra “Yes you can” through both challenges and triumphs. Additionally, she is profoundly grateful for her husband’s steadfast support, which has empowered her to pursue her passions and ambitions wholeheartedly. In the coming years, she is focused on expanding her expertise in operations, committing to ongoing online courses to further develop her skill set. She aims to transition into a management role, with current responsibilities including managing the company’s fixed assets and overseeing the fleet of company-owned vehicles. Additionally, she seeks recognition for her contributions and hopes to earn a title that better reflects her experience beyond that of a senior accountant. In the long-term, she is working toward the prospect of retirement. In advising aspiring professionals, she notes that one of the most demanding aspects of her role is maintaining a healthy work-life balance and setting clear boundaries, especially in the corporate environment. She emphasizes that accountants must establish boundaries while keeping a clear focus on priorities and deadlines to ensure a balanced work-life dynamic.
