Company: NBH Bank
Location: Sunnyvale, Texas, United States
Jody S. Hodges, MBA, market executive and senior managing director of specialty banking at NBH Bank, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in finance.
With nearly two and a half decades of experience, Mr. Hodges has established a successful career in finance, specializing in banking and credit services. He currently excels as a market executive and senior managing director of specialty banking at NBH Bank, a role he has held since 2022, where he is responsible for coaching managing directors and working closely with clients. His experience also includes serving as national managing director of health care and capital finance at NBH Bank from 2020 to 2022, national director of health care at NBH Bank from 2019 to 2020, and senior vice president at Texas Capital Bank from 2017 to 2019. Prior to this, he was senior vice president and manager of health care banking at Bank of Texas from 2014 to 2017, as well as senior vice president and senior client manager for global commercial banking at Bank of America from 2001 to 2014.
Mr. Hodges has also dedicated his time serving on the executive board of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation since 2011, sponsoring the school district theater system, volunteering for the Do More Charity, and being a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma and Lambda Phi Eta honor societies. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Science from West Texas A&M University, cum laude, in 2001, followed by a Master of Business Administration from The M.J. Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University in 2008.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Hodges has achieved remarkable success since joining NBH Bank, particularly in his role behind the creation of the health care vertical in late 2019, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic just six months into this new initiative. Starting from scratch as the first employee, he successfully built a team, developed credit policies, and devised a national strategy. Today, the division has grown to six members and has secured over $400 million in loans and $50 million in deposits. He attributes his success to the early independence he gained at the age of 16. This formative experience, which required him to manage responsibilities such as insurance, food, and housing, instilled in him a strong work ethic and a relentless drive for personal growth. He also credits this early independence for shaping his ability to connect with people, teaching him the value of genuine relationships.
In the coming years, Mr. Hodges plans to continue his tenure with NBH Bank, with aspirations to eventually step into the role of executive vice president. In the long term, he envisions himself taking on the position of chief executive officer. He is also excited to celebrate a personal milestone of 22 years of marriage and looks forward to supporting his children as they enter college and begin their careers, continuing to build on the legacy he has established. In advising aspiring professionals, he emphasizes the importance of networking, and stresses the value of forming personal connections, regardless of individuals’ titles or roles. He also notes that one should be committed to sharing knowledge and experiences with others as they progresses in their career.
