With nearly four decades of experience, Mr. Femminella has established a successful career in insurance services, specializing in claims operations and management, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), loss control, and risk transfer. He currently serves as a risk manager at JLJ IV Enterprises Inc., a role he has held since May 2024, where he handles claims across all lines of coverage, including ADR, workers’ compensation-certified programs, SIU investigations, vendor management, and claims administration. He is also responsible for safety and loss control, claims management, and collaborating with individuals to streamline processes and operations. His experience also includes serving as senior vice president of risk control at Risk Management Company from 2021 to 2024, vice president and claims manager at American Global from 2015 to 2021, and vice president of workers’ compensation and no-fault at MagnaCare from 2009 to 2014. He held roles as national director of operations at Allied Group Holdings LLC from 2006 to 2009, executive vice president of ES&P at Sterling & Sterling Inc. from 2000 to 2004, claims manager at GMAC Insurance from 1998 to 2000, claims market manager at Nationwide from 1993 to 1998, and SIU investigator at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company from 1986 to 1993.
Mr. Femminella laid a strong educational foundation, earning an Associate of Science in business administration and marketing from Nassau Community College in 1986, followed by a Bachelor of Science from the School of Public Administration and Professional Accountancy at LIU Post in 1989. He has been an active member of the Nassau County Police Reserve Association and the Fraternal Order of Police since 2002, is a member the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc., and dedicated time to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America from 1982 to 1987.
Mr. Femminella takes great pride in his leadership at Integon, later known as GMAC Insurance, where upon his joining the company, he identified a lack of confidence from the local community in its operations. Rather than hiring new staff, he chose to work with the existing team, revamping processes and implementing a system that standardized claims documentation, ensuring consistency across all programs. He has also earned various recognitions throughout his career, including at Sterling & Sterling, where he and his team achieved the highest audit score ever for claim operations and were acknowledged by the company’s president and vice president of claims as the “model office” for staffing solutions and claims management. Additionally, in light of his impressive undertakings, he was named one of the Top 100 International Global Leaders in Finance and Insurance by Sterling & Sterling in 2021, receiving the founder’s award from the organization in 2002, and earning the highest achievement award from Dale Carnegie & Associates Inc., for a strategic presentation workshop in 1991.
Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Femminella is grateful for his success and attributes it to the outstanding individuals he has had the privilege of working with throughout his career. Looking ahead, he remains committed to contributing to his organization’s growth and financial success. Additionally, he is passionate about grooming and mentoring a dedicated individual who is eager to collaborate with him and benefit from his extensive knowledge and experience.
