With nearly two and a half decades of experience, Mr. Sandrock has established a distinguished career in finance and private equity. He currently serves as the managing partner of Pareto & Company, an independent sponsor he founded in 2016 that provides institutional partners and individual investors with hard-to-source, niche opportunities. His experience also includes serving as chairman of the board at First Choice Lab Group Inc. from 2019 to 2024, a board member at United Air Temp from 2021 to 2024, and as chief financial officer of The Tooth Factory Inc. from 2014 to 2019. Prior to these roles, he was head of planning and analysis for workplace services at Northern Trust Corporation from 2014 to 2016 and executive director of liquidity and capital resources at the University of Chicago from 2009 to 2014. Earlier in his career, he gained valuable expertise as a senior analyst with JGS Investments from 2007 to 2009, a wealth management adviser at UBS Wealth Management from 2006 to 2007, and in creative and managerial roles such as assistant director at Goodman Theatre and associate producer at Ensemble Studio Theatre.

In addition to his extensive professional experience, Mr. Sandrock has served as an adjunct lecturer in the School of Communication at Northwestern University since 2014 and at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 2012 to 2018. His creative endeavors include writing, producing, and directing with Madtown Media from 2002 to 2004, as well as serving as the playwright for his produced works such as “The Oven,” “Frankenstein,” “Golden Pheasants,” and “Nevermore.” He is actively involved in various organizations, including the Independent Sponsor Forum, where he is a member, and the GreenMan Theatre Troupe. He also served as a board member and observer at OptioRx in Oak Brook, Illinois, from 2018 to 2022, and contributes his time to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls. His impressive achievements have earned him recognition as one of the Top 100 People in Finance and among the Most Promising Finance Leaders selected by CIO Magazine.

Reflecting on his path, Mr. Sandrock pointed to a strong educational foundation as a basis for his accomplishments, earning a Bachelor of Science in theatre from Northwestern University in 2001 and a Master of Business Administration in finance, economics, entrepreneurship, and accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2006. After completing his master’s degree, he ventured into the world of finance, gaining experience across various sectors of financial and investment domains before connecting with numerous individual investors who shared his interest in pursuing private equity transactions. He takes great pride in his successful launch of Pareto & Company. By establishing his own firm, he has had the opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of professionals and has orchestrated several lucrative deals, notably including the acquisition of United Air Temp.

Mr. Sandrock attributes his successes to the strong partnership with his wife of 23 years as well as his open-mindedness and ability to seek out and take advantage of a wide range of opportunities. In the coming years, he is determined to actively seek out additional investment prospects that could benefit from his involvement and, in addition, he is committed to expanding the team at Pareto in order to enhance operations while maintaining strong interpersonal connections. On a personal level, he is dedicated to supporting his son through his education, spending more quality time with his family, and engaging in new travel adventures. He also plans to devote more time to maintaining his theatrical abilities through the art of creative writing and directing.
