Mr. Davis has led a remarkable and diverse career that spans decades. After initially working in the classroom as a teacher, he pivoted into the financial sector by joining Merrill Lynch before becoming a licensed stockbroker for many years. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Davis has worked for several other notable organizations in investment banking and brokerage, including Morgan Stanley and Oppenheimer. Today, he remains active by managing RD Creative Group LLC. He is also a singer, songwriter and cabaret performer.
From 2013 to 2023, Mr. Davis was the managing director of McAlinden Research Partners, an independent investment strategy research firm, in New York City. His ability to conduct such research and identify industries poised to outperform the market, as well as his vast knowledge of taking companies public, primary and secondary offerings, and institutional sales, have been pivotal to his success.
During his career, Mr. Davis also had the opportunity to serve as an independent director and audit committee member at FXCM Inc., a publicly traded company based in New York City that served as a leading provider of foreign exchange trading and related services from 2010 to 2016. While employed with Banc of America Securities, Mr. Davis began the beginning stages of forming an alternative investment industry charity that is still successful today. Best known for this initiative, Help For Children/Hedge Funds Care (HFC.org), he was fortunate to have the support of two colleagues who were instrumental in his ability to get the organization up and running.
As the longtime founder and chair emeritus of Help for Children, Mr. Davis helped grow the nonprofit into what it is today. The organization’s mission centers on preventing and treating child abuse, giving children a voice and providing support and stability to strengthen families. Mr. Davis’s hard work has delivered over 1,000 grants of over $62 million to support this cause.
Mr. Davis graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor of Arts in speech and theater arts and elementary education. He also received Series 7 certification in 1975. Mr. Davis remains active in his professional community as a member of the Hedge Funds Association, an international nonprofit industry trade and nonpartisan lobbying organization.
A well-written writer, Mr. Davis authored “What Goes Around Comes Around: A Guide to How Life REALLY Works” in 2018.
