With nearly three decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Boulas has built a successful career in sales and marketing. He currently serves as the chief executive officer for North America for the Paramed MRI Unit of MROpen Evo, a role he has held since 2024. Paramed is an operational company with multiple MRI units installed across the United States and Canada, conducting substantial clinical and research work. In this capacity, he is responsible for driving the profitable growth and market penetration of the organization within a key subsegment of the MRI marketplace in North America. His focus is on achieving rapid and profitable expansion while aligning costs with revenue. He also leverages his relationships with chief executive officers and chief operations officers, targeting specific segments such as orthopedics, sports medicine, and private radiology.
Mr. Boulas’ experience comprises of region manager for the Heartland Region at VasoHealthcare from 2023 to 2024, vice president of imaging IT solutions and services at Canopy Partners from 2021 to 2023, enterprise account executive for health care at Pegasystems from 2020 to 2021, client executive for Watson Health at IBM from 2018 to 2019, and executive client director for strategic accounts at GE Healthcare from 2015 to 2018. Additionally, he was the territory sales director at Accuray from 2013 to 2015 and president of New Growth Strategies LLC from 2006 to 2013. Earlier in his career, he served as regional sales manager at Philips Medical Systems from 2004 to 2006, president of the US division at Medisolution from 2003 to 2004, and regional vice president of sales at IDX Systems from 2002 to 2003. He was also zone sales manager of health care IT sales at GE Healthcare from 1996 to 2002, and full lines account manager at GE Healthcare from 1996 to 1998. His military service includes being a captain and tank company commander in the US Army from 1984 to 1991.
Laying an educational foundation, Mr. Boulas earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1984 and completed an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) through GE-sponsored healthcare mini-courses at the Wisconsin School of Business in 2002, followed by an EMBA from the University of Denver – Daniels College of Business in 2006. He also attended the Forum’s Advanced Course at SELP, Landmark Education’s Curriculum for Living, and the Authentic Leadership & Dynamic Teaming program at GE Crotonville. His certifications include critical selling skills, Miller-Heiman Strategic Selling, and GE Healthcare’s Key Talent Pipeline. Additionally, he is a certified US Army Ranger and Airborne. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the Healthcare Information Management Society, the Radiology Business Managers Association, and the American Association of Orthopedic Executives. In light of his impressive undertakings, he was honored as Salesman of the Year and Rookie of the Year, and he was selected to serve on GE Healthcare’s USCAN CEO Field Advisory Board and the GE Healthcare Academic Medical Center Advisory Boards.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Boulas attributes his success to his curiosity, competitiveness, and a deep passion for improving health care. He is driven by the belief that accessing health care is often a frustrating experience for many, and he aims to enhance the patient experience beyond the hospital setting. The support of intelligent colleagues and the friendships he has cultivated continue to inspire and motivate him. Following his father’s passing, he resigned from his previous role and briefly considered retirement to focus on coaching and writing a book. However, he plans to continue working for another five to seven years, shifting toward his true passion to helping small to mid-sized businesses build and grow profitable niche markets.
