Ed Miller, MBA, PCC, lecturer and executive coach at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in coaching and education.
With over four and a half decades of experience, Mr. Miller has established a successful career in coaching and education. He has excelled as studio coach at Leadership Studio since 2019, leadership coach and lecturer at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business since 2005, and principal at EMCC Executive Coaching since 2002. In these roles, he helps individuals develop their leadership characteristics, enabling them to present themselves as the leaders they aspire to be. He also coaches executive leaders to enhance their leadership effectiveness and works with master’s degree students to expand their leadership skills. His experience also includes positions as principal at Diamond Management & Technology Consultants from 1999 to 2002, partner at OmniTech Consulting Group from 1994 to 1999, business director at Quaker Oats from 1983 to 1993, and systems engineer at IBM from 1978 to 1981.
Laying an educational foundation, Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Dartmouth College, a Master of Business Administration in marketing and finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1983, and a professional coaching certification from New Ventures West in 2004. Reflecting on his path, in 2005, he began helping create a tailored program for Philips in Amsterdam, marking his entry into executive education, and in 2019, he was approached by his colleague to help establish the Leadership Studio course. The Leadership Studio is an experiential course allowing students to customize their leadership development, combining lectures, practice, rehearsal hall work, and real-life experiments.
Looking to the future, Mr. Miller plans to continue teaching and coaching, as well as co-author a book with three colleagues. He is an active leader in his church and hopes to deepen his involvement there. He also looks forward to spending more quality time with his family and teaching innovative courses, with potential opportunities at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in both London and Hong Kong. Additionally, he is excited about “Adventures with Dale” — a driving trip to California along Route 66. This journey, which will pass through cities like St. Louis, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Phoenix, and is meaningful to him as he plans to connect with family and friends while supporting aging friends facing challenges.
