With two and a half decades of experience, Ms. Zhang has built a successful career in finance, specializing in health care audits and government and nonprofit industries. Currently she excels as a senior auditor at KPMG LLP, a position she has held since 2000. Before transitioning into finance, she worked as an elementary school teacher in China. She also dedicates her time as a Sunday school director and youth group volunteer at her local church, contributed to the Little Star Chinese School, and supported a food program at a food bank. Additionally, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and is an active member of the Moravian University Alumni Association. Laying a strong educational foundation, she earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and international business management from Moravian University in 2000.
Reflecting on her path, Ms. Zhang began her journey in education in China, where she earned her teaching degree and taught English to elementary school students from third to sixth grade. However, when she relocated to the United States, she faced numerous challenges including cultural differences and decided to seek out a path that aligned more with her skills and background. She made the decision to shift her major to accounting and international business management, and through the encouragement of a professor, she pursued an internship at an accounting firm focused on auditing. Through the internship, found joy in helping clients navigate complex issues, solving their problems, and providing meaningful recommendations.
Throughout her career, Ms. Zhang has taken great pride in delivering top-quality services to clients and making a significant impact in the audit field. She attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family, acknowledging the sacrifices her husband and son have made to enable her to focus on her work. In the coming years, she is working toward retirement and enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle. Additionally, she is dedicated to mentoring the next generation in her field, and aims to create a meaningful legacy focused on exceptional client service, fostering a culture of helpfulness and innovative problem-solving.
