Since 2016, Mr. Salazar has been instrumental in managing the fleet operations within the Gulf of Mexico, ensuring both reliability and innovation in his results.

Initially tasked with sailing in seagoing container and offshore construction vessels early in his career, Mr. Salazar found success in shore-based vessel management roles in Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Norway before relocating to the United States of America. His notable tenure with Subsea7 began as a vessel superintendent in 2007, significantly contributing to its operations across multiple countries. He has held various pivotal roles within the organization over the subsequent 14 years, including as the fleet manager and fleet director at Subsea7 between 2012 to 2021. During this period, he was responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of the fleet. Mr. Salazar’s leadership was marked by a commitment to integrating global perspectives with local industry practices, a skill honed over the course of his international experiences.

Mr. Salazar’s ability to blend global insights with local strategies has been a key factor in his success. He also remains active as a member of the Marine Technology Society, an international society comprised of academics, professionals, technologists, and institutions advocating for the awareness and advancement of marine technology that was established in 1963. To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Salazar pursued a formal education in his native country of Mexico, the result of which was a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. Mr. Salazar attributes his success to his innate ability to anticipate outcomes, plan strategically while managing risks, and lead teams effectively toward reliable results.

Born in Tijuana, Mr. Salazar is incredibly dedicated to his family, having proudly devoted his time and attention as a father to four wonderful sons.
