Kevin Christopher Hartman, partner solutions leader in consulting and systems integration (C&SI) for North, Central, and South America at Databricks, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in data solutions.

With a professional history spanning more than 30 years, Mr. Hartman has established a successful career across a wide range of roles in the field of technology, contributing to the creation of hundreds of digital products. He began as a student contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1990. Mr. Hartman shifted into software development with Parian Development Group in 1992 and contributed to various clients as the principal at Parthenon Consulting Group for five years. He gained further experience as a software architect at Leapnet in 1999, before joining Redpoint Technologies as the company’s principal architect for over 10 years. In 2014, Mr. Hartman accepted the role of vice president at SPR, a leading technology solutions company, showcasing his capacity for leadership. His recent roles include product management, machine learning engineering, and data science at Digital Strategy and Technology; national managing director for Unify Consulting; and data science lecturer for the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Information.

Since 2024, Mr. Hartman has served as the partner solutions leader, C&SI, AMER, for Databricks. In this role, he utilizes data science, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to build out technology solutions for customers and clients. Mr. Hartman has collaborated with both regional and global companies, successfully aiding partners in creating the tools necessary to accomplish their goals. Among his many career milestones, he’s particularly proud of his work on climate change and sustainable economic development—accomplishments that earned him a First Place Hackathon Award from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2021. This accolade exemplifies Mr. Hartman’s commitment to using his expertise to help others and the world. He emphasizes the importance of building a future that his children can continue to enjoy.

Beyond his primary vocation, Mr. Hartman has contributed to numerous creative works. He has been involved in articles for such publications as Engineering 360, Industry Today, TechCo, Tech Republic, and more. In 2021, Mr. Hartman co-wrote the paper “FireBERT: Hardening BERT-Based Classifiers Against Adversarial Attack,” which was published in Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing. He played major roles as a data scientist in a project to develop fraud detection through machine learning, and as a machine learning engineer in a project devoted to machine learning and data pipeline performance optimization.

Mr. Hartman’s performance in his field was born of his academic journey. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Campaign in 1991. Mr. Hartman returned to the academic world later in his career, earning a master’s degree in information and data science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020. He has furthered his credentials with several certifications, including as a Scrum master, in machine learning with text in Python from Data School, and as a machine learning professional from Databricks. Mr. Hartman credits hard work, hands-on experience and the ability to learn from his mistakes for his success.

Known for his contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mr. Hartman has turned his skills and time toward many causes he believes in. For two years, he provided guidance as a data scientist for People’s Action, a grassroots collective of multiple organizations encouraging a just and inclusive society. Mr. Hartman has supported others in their education at the University of California, Berkeley’s School of Information as an ambassador for the school’s master’s degree in information and data science program since 2021. Additionally, he has been a student mentor in the same program since 2022.

Outside of his career, Mr. Hartman is a devoted husband and father to two. When not working, he enjoys traveling, cooking and practicing photography—especially when he can incorporate his family into these hobbies. Looking to the future, Mr. Hartman intends to continue working with data science and artificial intelligence. As he enters the later stages of his professional life, he hopes to empower others to realize their visions and step into positions of greater power within the industry. Though he has no set plans for retirement, Mr. Hartman plans to dedicate more of his time and attention to teaching, with the aim of continuing to teach even after he retires.
