Among his various responsibilities, Mr. Vijay oversees all global digital HR interactions across Nissan and human resources operations worldwide. He is tasked with implementing digital platforms to improve the HR department’s operations. Additionally, Mr. Vijay remains abreast of technology trends, such as generative artificial intelligence and machine learning related to HR processes, and works closely with business partners and employees to ensure their needs are met.
Before being acquired by Nissan, Mr. Vijay was a client principal at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP from 2013 to 2016 and the vice president of corporate strategy and development at Virtual Power Systems Inc. in 2013. He also garnered success as a business solutions executive, principal of global services and industry solution executive at IBM between 1997 and 2013. Mr. Vijay’s career background dates back to 1985, when he joined ETA ASCON Star Group in Dubai as a senior data processing manager. Before coming to the U.S., he held other roles in Dubai, including Anuraj Enterprises Inc. as the owner and chief executive officer. His firm was notably recognized as the largest ATM network consulting and programming provider in the Middle East, supporting clients in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar.
Highly educated, Mr. Vijay holds a Bachelor of Commerce in cost accounting, financial accounting and computer science from the University of Mumbai and a Master of Commerce in cost accounting, computer science and computer management. He also received a Master of Computer Science in computer, information technology administration and management from the K.C College of Engineering and Information Technology. These advanced degrees have shaped his career and propelled him into leadership roles where he has had the opportunity to demonstrate his skills and abilities.
As part of his continued commitments to his field, Mr. Vijay has been active in the Electronic Equipment Manufacturers Association and the Shared Services and Outsourcing Network. These memberships have been instrumental in his ability to network and remain aware of new developments. Besides his work-related affiliations, Mr. Vijay has been engaged with a charitable organization in Ecuador that serves impoverished women and children.
Since joining Nissan Motor Company Ltd., Mr. Vijay has been pivotal in establishing global platforms for some 100,000 employees and a support hub that continues to advance in AI and generative AI. He has also received numerous citations and awards for his hard work and dedication. Mr. Vijay attributes his success to establishing trust with clients and colleagues, meeting expectations, and building a strong team.
