Tracy D. Nguyen, President and Chief Executive Officer at AQ Pharmaceuticals Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Pharmaceuticals.
Ms. Nguyen, a leader in the pharmaceutical sector, has been highly successful as the president and chief executive officer at Affordable Quality Pharmaceuticals (AQP) Inc. Established in 1994, the company provides independent pharmacies and pharmacy buying groups with affordable quality prescription drugs. Over the past 30 years, AQP has transitioned from a chain of more than 15 pharmacies across four states to a wholesaler and distributor throughout the U.S. and Vietnam. Working alongside a small team of executives, Ms. Nguyen’s company has locations in Garden Grove, California, as well as two additional sites in North and South Vietnam.
A native of Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen made her way to the U.S. after high school, where she studied at the University of Minnesota and received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1985. Shortly after graduating, she relocated to California in 1990 to begin her journey in pharmaceuticals.
Throughout her remarkable career in this sector, Ms. Nguyen has garnered significant success. Most notable are her present endeavors in both the pharmaceutical and wellness industries for prescription and over-the-counter medications and vitamin supplements. She has also traveled extensively, where she has been able to experience various diverse health practices and treatments. While in Europe, Ms. Nguyen became intrigued by their use of traditional medicine, thus inspiring her to advocate for using natural projects in the U.S. for various types of medical treatment. Consequently, she began investing in clinical trials in 2022, focusing on traditional medicinal practices.
Among other professional achievements, Ms. Nguyen and her team have developed two products, one to help lower blood sugar levels and better manage diabetes and another to promote arterial health via traditional Japanese medicine, which cleanse and strengthen blood vessels. Both products are now Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved and can be found on AQP’s website. Additionally, in 2023, Ms. Nguyen was involved in applying for FDA approval for low-level laser therapy (LLLT) treatment with a well-known Japanese scientist, which has become very popular in Japan. The LLLT is similar to a painkiller but alleviates pain without the use of drugs.
Ms. Nguyen is now working with the same Japanese scientist to formulate Fucoidan, a compound recognized for its potential anticancer properties. They are presently involved with several research facilities in the U.S. and Malaysia for continued scientific research.
In recognition of her many accomplishments in the industry, Ms. Nguyen has been honored with several accolades, including an Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award in 2007. APQ was also named the Top Woman Business in California in 2006 and the Top Asian Pacific American Owned Business in America that same year. Furthermore, DiversityBusiness.com recognized Ms. Nguyen’s company among the top 500 woman-owned businesses in the U.S.
Reflecting on her entrepreneurial ventures in pharmaceuticals, Ms. Nguyen credits her extensive scientific background to much of her success. She also notes several significant mentors who have propelled her career forward. Eager for future success, Ms. Nguyen looks forward to continued medical advancements that will pave the way for the pharmaceutical industry.
