With over three decades of experience, Mr. Matthews has established a successful career in accounting. He currently serves in multiple roles, including member of Abundance360 since 2023, limited partner at Untapped Ventures since 2023, director and shareholder of Accountests since 2020, ambassador for Xero since 2017, and founder and president of Noble Accounting LLC since 2015. His previous experience includes partner at FMJ from 2011 to 2015, chief financial officer at John Tracy Clinic from 2005 to 2010, chief financial officer at Los Angeles Education Partnership from 2001 to 2005, financial controller at Rock-it Cargo USA LLC from 1999 to 2000, and project accountant at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust from 1993 to 1999. He laid a strong educational foundation, earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the University of Westminster in 1991. Additionally, he holds multiple certifications, including fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Certified Accounting Technician. He is also an active member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Mensa, and serves on the board of directors for Because I Said I Would and as an audit committee member for Easter Seals Southern California.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Matthews’ firm, Noble Accounting, exclusively supports clients dedicated to noble causes, such as aiding young mothers, assisting hospitalized children, and collaborating with religious institutions. Throughout his career, he considers his most significant achievement to be driving the extraordinary growth of several nonprofit organizations, notably his involvement in expanding an organization by 1,000% during his tenure. He attributes his success to his commitment to the nonprofit sector, his clients, and his team. Looking to the future, he plans to focus on business development and brand promotion. By hiring additional management, he aims to reduce day-to-day operational involvement, enabling him to network at a high level, attend conferences, and enhance the firm’s national visibility.
