Excelling in his field for over 15 years, Mr. Martinez was the director of procurement and contract services for the Lower Eastside Service Center, a nonprofit organization that assists community members living with drug dependencies, from 2020 to 2023. As such, he was tasked with establishing compliance documents and procedures in collaboration with the chief compliance officer to ensure compliance with funding requirements across various programs. Mr. Martinez also served as a procurement contracts manager for information technology for The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey between 2018 and 2019 and as a category manager for professional services for the State of New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority in 2018. Mr. Martinez initially garnered experience as an operations, purchasing and logistics manager at RGB Electrical Services and Supplies Inc. from 2006 to 2007.
Highly educated, Mr. Martinez received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration in project management from DeVry University in 2013 and 2015, respectively. He also has several professional credentials demonstrating his proficiency, including being a certified procurement professional, professional public buyer, Florida-certified contract negotiator, and Florida-certified contract and grants manager. Besides his academic success, Mr. Martinez served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1994 to 1998. He remains abreast of current trends as a member of several industry-related organizations, such as the New York State Association of Municipal Purchasing Officers and the National Institute of Governmental Procurement, and serves on various committees for other similar organizations.
