Mr. Bhatta is recognized for his contributions as the manager of computer-aided engineering (CAE) at the Mahindra Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate headquartered in Mumbai, India. Based in Auburn, Michigan, he oversees vehicle crash safety development, CAE, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). As such, he is responsible for simulating real-world scenarios through complex physics calculations and advanced mathematical tools to ensure the safety of vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users. Additionally, Mr. Bhatta virtually validates vehicle performance and informs the design team if any modifications are required.
Affiliated with the Mahindra Group since 2022, Mr. Bhatta was a lead crash safety engineer before pivoting into his current position in 2024. He also garnered success with Stellantis as a design responsible manager of vehicle safety and CAE advanced senior engineer between 2010 and 2021, Magna Steyr as an assistant manager of CAE from 2008 to 2010, Tata Technologies as an analyst CAE between 2007 and 2008, and Manindra Group as a deputy manager CAE, dating back to 2004. Throughout his career, he has gained valuable experience designing vehicles to achieve prestigious, best-in-class safety ratings, significantly contributing to the protection and safety of millions of road users worldwide.
Highly educated in preparation for his career, Mr. Bhatta received a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the State Board of Technical Education and Training in Andhra Pradesh, India, in 1998, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical from Andhra University in Andhra Pradesh in 2002, and a Master of Engineering in automotive from the University of Mumbai in 2004. He also completed a postgraduate program in AI and ML at the University of Texas at Austin in 2021. Mr. Bhatta is active with several professional and civic-minded organizations, such as the United States Technical Advisory Group and FCA Motor Citizens. He has been recognized for his accomplishments with several accolades, attributing his success to his passion for automobiles, science and technology.
