Denise Uran Zillman, MA, Director of Talent Management and Development at Shutterfly, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Human Resources.
Ms. Uran, a dedicated human resources professional, has been employed by Shutterfly in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, since 2021. Hired as the director and chief of staff of human resources in 2021, she now serves as the director of talent management and development. Her role involves leading the successful execution of various programs that positively impact the employee experience. She also engages in a leadership development program with an external vendor. Among many other tasks, Ms. Uran manages employee lifecycle surveys of approximately 5,000 employees. Her expertise in process improvement, program administration, learning and development, and program development and management have been critical to her success.
Before being acquired by Shutterfly, Ms. Uran worked for Lifetouch Portrait Studios in Eden Prairie for over 15 years. Hired in 2004 as a training manager, she worked her way up into several leading roles, including senior manager of leadership development and senior manager of human resources from 2014 to 2021. Ms. Uran’s success was due, in part, to her extensive educational background, which included a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, coursework in increasing workforce performance from the University of Saint Thomas Center for Business Excellence, and a Master of Arts in organizational management from Concordia University in 2010. She also holds numerous professional credentials, including being a change management specialist through the Management and Strategy Institute and a dominance, influence, steadiness and conscientiousness practitioner, levels I and II through Udemy.
Active in her professional community, Ms. Uran is an executive member of the International LEAP Network and a member of the Association for Talent Development. She also volunteers with various nonprofits, including the Alzheimer’s Association, Sleep in Heavenly Peace and Home Project Linus. Reflecting on her professional journey, Ms. Uran is most grateful for her positive impact on the careers of so many employees. She credits her success to her ability to collaborate and influence and her skill in effectively driving progress.
