Ms. Berliner embarked on her illustrious career in 1984 shortly after graduating from college. Since 2010, she has been integral to Authentic Talent & Literary Management. As the head of the New York office since 2019, Ms. Berliner ensures that employees are heard, treated fairly and thrive in their roles while mentoring them to become exemplary managers. Her expertise in connectivity, brand management and career planning has been pivotal in guiding her clients within the entertainment realm and in philanthropic endeavors.
Beginning her journey at Authentic Talent & Literary Management as a partner, Ms. Berliner subsequently began serving as a talent manager in 2011 and managing partner in 2012, roles she continues to uphold today. Based in Brooklyn, New York, where Ms. Berlinger is located, with a second location in Los Angeles, California, the organization is recognized as the largest talent and literary management company in both cities. It also encompasses a thriving production arm.
Ms. Berliner’s journey began in the mailroom of Creative Artists Agency, where she quickly ascended to become a senior talent agent. Over nearly two decades until 2003, she cultivated a reputation as a formidable force in talent representation, with a client roster that included luminaries from film, television and music. During this period, Ms. Berliner’s most distinguished career accomplishment was having three of her clients nominated for Academy Awards in one year.
In 2003, Ms. Berliner transitioned to Handprint Entertainment as the president of production. During her tenure, she spearheaded film production deals and consulted on successful films such as “Monster” and “Upside of Anger.” Ms. Berliner’s strategic vision and leadership were instrumental in setting up a first-look deal at Media 8 Entertainment and securing domestic distribution agreements.
From 2007 to 2011, Ms. Berliner served as the director of the Artist Ambassador Program at Save the Children International (formerly the International Save the Children Alliance). In this role, she leveraged her extensive network and expertise to enhance the nonprofit organization’s visibility and fundraising efforts through artist ambassadors. As a leading charitable organization, Save the Children International is recognized as the world’s largest independent children’s rights organization.
Ms. Berliner completed college coursework in environmental studies and urban planning at the University of California, Santa Barbara, between 1978 and 1980. She then pivoted to pursue her passion by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in theater arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1984.
Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Berliner is deeply committed to civic engagement. She volunteers at the Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry and supports The Trevor Project. Additionally, Ms. Berliner’s life is enriched by her love for ballet, theater, film and literature.
In light of her success, Ms. Berliner received recognition with the Stars of Tomorrow Vision Award. She attributes her success to the diverse perspectives she has gained throughout her life and values honesty tempered with kindness as her guiding principle. Looking ahead, Ms. Berliner intends to inspire others by becoming a published author and sharing her journey of focus and dedication.
