Mr. Rodriguez has built a distinguished career in global trade operations, with a tenure spanning over 25 years. Currently, he holds the position of director of global trade operations for international logistics and trade operations in the Americas at Cardinal Health, based in Dublin, Ohio, a role he has occupied since 2024. His responsibilities include overseeing complex logistics and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.

Before being acquired by his organization, Mr. Rodriguez served as the head of trade compliance excellence for North America at Cargill in Miami, Florida, from 2021 to 2024, where he was instrumental in enhancing compliance frameworks across the region. Among various responsibilities, he led and coached a team in the North America region and maintained and monitored the risk framework to ensure customs compliance, audits, post-transactional testing and reviews.

From 2018 to 2021, Mr. Rodriguez was the director of customs compliance for the Americas at DHL Express, a leading transportation, logistics, supply chain and storage company, in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. Before assuming this role, he briefly held the title of director of import/export programs in 2018 after initially serving as a senior manager for broker review at DHL Express between 2016 and 2017.

Mr. Rodriguez’s career trajectory also included his role as the senior manager of transportation and trade compliance at Covidien in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area from 2008 to 2016. During this period, he was pivotal in managing transportation logistics and ensuring adherence to trade regulations throughout Latin America. The company, which is based in Minneapolis and is recognized as a global health care technology leader, was acquired by Medtronic in 2015.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Rodriguez worked as a logistics operations manager at Kuehne + Nagel in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area between 2006 and 2008 and as a business development and marketing executive at Delmar International Inc. in New York City from 2005 to 2006. His experience also included serving as Miami branch manager for Barthco International, overseeing freight forwarding, customs brokerage and 3PL warehouse operations of the Miami branch between 2003 and 2005. He also excelled as an operations manager at Senator International, involved in managing the Miami branch operations concerning imports, customs brokerage and exports via air and ocean while maintaining U.S. Customs Broker compliance for five offices nationwide, dating back to 2000.

Mr. Rodriguez began his professional journey as a U.S. customs broker with Danzas/AEI in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area from 1996 to 2000, where he honed his expertise in customs regulations and brokerage services. Beyond his primary work endeavors, he has contributed to academia as a teacher at Florida National College, sharing his knowledge and experience with aspiring professionals.

Highly educated, Mr. Rodriguez obtained associate degrees in computer science and business administration early in his academic journey. He also achieved a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Albizu University’s Miami campus in 2001. Subsequently, Mr. Rodriguez earned a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in 2002, which stands out as one of his most notable achievements due to the rigorous balance between work and study during that period.

Mr. Rodriguez’s professional credentials are further bolstered by a U.S. customs broker’s license, which he achieved through perseverance and dedication under the mentorship of a colleague who significantly shaped his career path. His commitment to the industry is further exemplified by his involvement with the Florida Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association, where he serves on the board of directors.

Looking ahead, Mr. Rodriguez envisions expanding his career into Europe to explore opportunities on an international scale. With aspirations of securing a higher-level position, his journey thus far has been marked by resilience, dedication and an unwavering commitment to excellence in all facets of life.
