In addition to his affiliation with the GSA, Mr. Williams has been an auditor and analyst for the U.S. Federal Government since 2011. His career with the government began in 2001 as an operations representative. He later became the director of the Office of Internal Audit from 2007 to 2011. Mr. Williams also served as a master industrial operations analyst and master auditor analyst with the U.S. General Services Administration.
Beyond these notable career opportunities, Mr. Williams was an assistant professor at Stanly Community College in North Carolina. Furthermore, he taught as an assistant instructor for the U.S. Army Reserve, teaching various internal auditing courses. Notably, Mr. Williams served his country in the U.S. Army, beginning in 1982. He retired as a sergeant major E-9 in 2011 after nearly 30 years of service.
Mr. Williams’ academic credentials include a Bachelor of Business Administration in federal acquisitions and contract management from Strayer University, completed in 2004. Subsequently, he earned a Master of Business Administration in federal acquisition and contract management from Strayer University in 2006 and a Master of Business Administration in auditing from Liberty University in 2010. In addition to his formal education, Mr. Williams is a certified fraud examiner through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and holds certification as an internal officer. His commitment to professional development is further evidenced by his membership in the Association of the United States Army. Mr. Williams’ contributions to professional publications between 2007 and 2011 highlight his thought leadership in his field.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Williams is actively involved in civic activities as a volunteer with local government. He also serves as a deacon at his local church.
Throughout his career, Mr. Williams has received a multitude of accolades, including the Internal Auditor of the Year award, as well as numerous U.S. Army recognitions, such as a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal and a Kuwait Liberation Medal. His hard work and dedication also resulted in securing a U.S. patent for a lower leg and foot stabilizer.
