With nearly 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Ghobadi has excelled as an executive vice president at Colliers International since 2022. In this position, he coaches agents, trains his team, and conducts one-on-one assessments while focusing on apartment building sales and land redevelopment for apartment complexes. Having previously carved a remarkable path in the commercial real estate industry, he is renowned for his ability to conduct high-level negotiations and represent investment clients in multifamily markets throughout North Los Angeles, particularly in the San Fernando Valley and Tri-Cities markets of Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena. As a testament to his stellar accomplishments with Colliers International, Mr. Ghobadi was ranked fourth in the Greater Los Angeles region.
Mr. Ghobadi began his career with Marcus & Millichap between 2006 and 2013, a tenure in which he closed more than $200 million worth of transactions. Honored with the Rookie of the Year Award in 2007, he advanced to become a senior investment associate in 2008 and the director of special assets services in 2009. Moreover, Mr. Ghobadi received multiple Recognitions of Outstanding Performance in Sales from Marcus & Millichap annually between 2008 and 2012.
In 2013, Mr. Ghobadi founded The Ghobadi Group, where he continues to serve as president. Known as “apartment building specialists,” The Ghobadi Group has closed on many apartment complexes in California valued in the millions as well as 1031 exchange properties across the United States, including in Texas, Kentucky, Florida, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, among others. Concurrently, he has found success as the senior vice president at KW Commercial from 2013 to 2017, a role in which he exclusively represented investors in the acquisition and disposition of their assets based in Los Angeles County. Mr. Ghobadi’s leadership and expertise were further acknowledged when he was recruited by Colliers International as a senior vice president in 2017.
Throughout his storied career, Mr. Ghobadi’s dedication to excellence has been reflected with such accolades as the Pace Setter Award in 2007, the Triple Gold Award for Outstanding Performance in 2013, the Platinum Award for Outstanding Performance and Largest Sale Price in 2014, and the Platinum Award for Outstanding Performance in 2015 and 2016. From 2017 to 2021, he earned the Max Green Top Producer Award and was celebrated among the Everest Club Top 10 Percent Producers of Collier’s in North America. Moreover, Mr. Ghobadi was selected by Los Angeles Business Journal as one of the three top commercial real estate brokers recognized in “Who’s Brokering Los Angeles” in 2020.
A licensed broker since 2006, Mr. Ghobadi is fluent in three languages: English, Swedish, and Farsi, which have helped him maintain his loyal and diverse client base. Before embarking on his professional path, he pursued a formal education at Wenstromska Tekniska Gymnasiet in Sweden, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and physics. Mr. Ghobadi is also an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the California Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and the Southland Regional Association of Realtors, affiliations which have provided him with valuable networking opportunities and insights into market trends.
