Prior to his current role, Mr. Korwek excelled as the head of risk management at Stanley Black & Decker from 2017 to 2024. During this period, he collaborated closely with environmental health and safety organizations, facility teams, and product designers to ensure the safety of both products and services. His efforts have consistently focused on protecting individuals from harm and aligning corporate strategy with organizational functions.
From 2013 to 2017, Mr. Korwek worked as a senior risk finance manager at United Technologies Corporation. In this capacity, he honed his skills in financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies. In the years prior, he managed risk finance for mergers and acquisitions at the same company from 2010 to 2013, where he played a crucial role in evaluating and managing risks associated with corporate transactions. Mr. Korwek also found success as a corporate risk manager at Chemtura Corporation from 2006 to 2010.
Mr. Korwek began his storied career at Marsh LLC as an assistant vice president from 2000 to 2006. He then transitioned to Conair LLC as a risk administrator in 2006. Throughout his career, Mr. Korwek has been active as a member of RIMS, formerly known as the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc., demonstrating his dedication to professional development and industry engagement.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Korwek pursued a formal education at Fairfield University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance in 2000. He subsequently obtained a Master of Business Administration from Southern Connecticut State University School of Business in 2008. Ultimately, he returned to Fairfield University to conclude his studies, graduating with a Master of Science in finance and financial management services in 2012. These academic accomplishments provided him with a strong foundation in financial principles and strategic management.
Beyond his primary endeavors, Mr. Korwek remains involved in civic-minded organizations as a volunteer with Rebuilding Together Hartford and Neighborhood Housing Services of New Britain. These roles reflect his active commitment to community service and social responsibility.
In his personal life, Mr. Korwek enjoys motorsports, spending time with family, and playing basketball and soccer. He is dedicated to supporting his two children as they pursue their own paths. Looking toward the future, he aims to grow professionally with aspirations of becoming a chief risk officer while also nurturing entrepreneurial ambitions by starting his own business. Additionally, he plans to support his son in entering the trades hopes to establish a successful business venture together.
