Additionally, he served as a controller for the Help Foundation in 2001 and as a financial controller for the Cleveland San Jose Ballet between 1997 and 2000. Mr. Babb’s time with the ballet company was marked by challenges due to fiscal disagreements, yet it underscored his ability to manage complex financial situations.

From 1995 to 1997, Mr. Babb was a fiscal manager for the Empowerment Zone in the City of Cleveland, where he oversaw management initiatives aimed at revitalizing urban areas. His earlier career included a notable tenure as financial controller for the Cleveland Housing Network from 1987 to 1995. During this period, Mr. Babb successfully contested a $200 million revenue claim by city officials, ultimately securing a favorable ruling that fostered a collaborative relationship with the city of Cleveland.

Mr. Babb’s foundational experience began at Standard Oil Company Inc., where he started working in 1987 as a contract administrator and auditor. This role provided him with invaluable insights into corporate finance and auditing practices. Complementing his professional journey, Mr. Babb shared his knowledge as an adjunct instructor at John Carroll University from 2014 to 2022, further solidifying his reputation as an expert in finance.

In preparation for his future, Mr. Babb received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Akron in 1980 and a master’s degree in nonprofit administration from John Carroll University in 2014. His designations include holding a public school treasurer license from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce since 2001, a notary public license in Cuyahoga County since 2018, and credentials as a certified public accountant by the Ohio Accountancy Board since 2019.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Babb is actively involved in civic organizations, such as Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church in downtown Cleveland.
