Mr. Enkler has dedicated his career to the development and empowerment of individuals, particularly those facing significant challenges. As the director of staff development at ADAPT of the Hudson Valley since 2025, he supervises a team of trainers responsible for delivering content and reviewing activities across the company. Mr. Enkler’s role also involves examining each discipline to enhance knowledge, education and service execution.
Passionate about teaching and supporting individuals with mental illness, particularly those facing severe challenges, Mr. Enkler’s contributions to ADAPT of the Hudson Valley embody this commitment, as the organization assists individuals with various disabilities and brain injuries in seeking a fulfilling quality of life.
Before acquiring his position as the director at ADAPT, Mr. Enkler served as a supports and services educator at Access: Supports for Living from 2022 to 2025. This nonprofit organization supports the families and communities of the Hudson Valley affected by disabilities and mental illness. Mr. Enkler’s role followed his dedicated service as a direct care trainer at Access, where he refined his skills in this sector from 2016 to 2025.
Mr. Enkler excelled as an internship coordinator at Orange-Ulster BOCES from 2009 to 2024, where he played a pivotal role in guiding students through their transition from education to employment. Additionally, he worked as an instructor and trainer at Best Resource Center Inc. between 2011 and 2016. His journey in education started as an instructor at Orange-Ulster BOCES in 1999.
Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Enkler was affiliated with NCE Technical Training Corporation as a technical trainer from 2000 to 2005 and with Orange County Community College as an allied health trainer between 2009 and 2011. He also garnered success with Alternative Healthcare Solutions, Westchester Medical Center and Four Winds Hospital, dating back more than 35 years.
Beyond his civic employment, Mr. Enkler made an impact during his military service as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1979, which instilled in him a sense of discipline and resilience that has been instrumental throughout his career. His military experience, combined with his academic achievements, including a bachelor’s degree in professional development from Empire State University, has equipped him with the skills necessary for his roles. Mr. Enkler also received several certifications that have further enhanced his professional capabilities, including a New York State teacher certification from the U.S. Department of Education in 2012, a Lean Six Sigma yellow belt certification from GoLeanSixSigma.com in 2018, and designation as a certified behavioral analyst consultant through Maxwell Leadership, which is part of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team.
Mr. Enkler is actively involved in civic organizations. He volunteers with his church’s worship team and local food banks. His passion for music is evident as he plays drums with the worship team and teaches children various instruments. Previously, Mr. Enkler served on the board of directors as secretary for the Regional Economic Community Action Program from 2020 to 2025.
In his personal life, Mr. Enkler is committed to empowering others and creating a legacy of growth and development. He is inspired by his father’s resilience and his mother’s values of humility and a lifelong commitment to learning.
