Anandha Subramanian, director of enterprise risk management (ERM) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) at iRhythm Technologies, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in enterprise risk management.
For nearly two decades, Mr. Subramanian has established himself as a leading figure in risk management, compliance and ESG services. Since 2023, he has served as the director of ERM and ESG at iRhythm Technologies, a medical device manufacturer that specializes in creating cutting-edge devices to help monitor heart health. As the director of ERM, Mr. Subramanian is depended on to identify, analyze and mitigate risks to the organization before they happen, as well as encouraging collaboration across the company. In his role as director of ESG, he spearheads a variety of environmental, social and governance initiatives. For example, Mr. Subramanian led the publication of a corporate sustainability report, which offered greater transparency to iRhythm Technologies stakeholders. He also keeps up to date with the latest research in the industry, reading white papers in order to track innovations and assess potential future risks.
Born in India, Mr. Subramanian began his professional life in the United States in 2006 as a supervisor for RSM McGladrey Inc., a large tax consulting firm. After six years there, he moved on to a series of roles in similar financial institutions, including assistant vice president and senior internal auditor at Boston Private Bank, internal audit manager at Century Bank and manager of risk assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. 2015 saw Mr. Subramanian’s first shift toward work with a company focused on medical technology when he became an internal audit consultant at Illumina, a biotechnology organization focused on analyzing and utilizing genetic data. From 2016 to 2018, he added to his experience in risk management as the director of risk advisory and client service at RGP, where he also became a governance, risk and compliance (GRC) partner.
After two years as the managing director of advisory services at Sayva Solutions, Mr. Subramanian fully embraced the medical technology industry. In 2020, he accepted the position of director of enterprise risk management at Dexcom, a company that manufactures devices and develops apps for glucose tracking, innovations which are essential in keeping millions of people with diabetes around the world safe and healthy. Mr. Subramanian’s expertise in risk management played a crucial part in guiding the company by identifying potential exposures and executing strategies to safely navigate those hazards. He remained at Dexcom until joining iRhythm Technologies in 2023.
Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Subramanian created a solid academic foundation for his future. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning in his home country of India. After moving to the U.S., Mr. Subramanian continued his education, earning a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business in 2003. Dedicated to lifelong self-improvement, he has completed past certifications as an information systems auditor through the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA); an internal auditor through The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc.; as a public accountant through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; and as a chartered accountant through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Most recently, Mr. Subramanian was certified in risk management assurance. He became an ERM fellow at North Carolina State University in 2022.
Outside of his career, Mr. Subramanian is a dedicated husband and a loving father to three children. He enjoys playing tennis, volunteering with the Special Olympics and participating in Indian cultural activities, especially with his family. Looking to his future, Mr. Subramanian is focused on increasing the accessibility of enterprise risk management for small and midsize companies. He plans to explore methods for supporting smaller organizations with his skills.
