During his time with Rightway, Mr. Wehking has spearheaded a major program for guaranteeing patients access to affordable medication. Building the program from the ground up, he has overseen the creation of contracts with more than 55,000 different pharmacy locations, ensuring greater accessibility to lifesaving medication.
Prior to joining Rightway Healthcare, Mr. Wehking served as the senior director of analytics and client relations at XIL Health, where he collaborated with multiple Fortune 50 companies and governmental bodies and offered his consulting expertise on medical procurement, pharmacy networks and other areas. His career started with a lengthy tenure of over a decade with Express Scripts, beginning as staff auditor in 2010. In 2012, Mr. Wehking was promoted to project manager of retail channel management, followed by taking on the role of business analysis specialist in 2015. Even in these early years of his career, he quickly impressed colleagues with his ability to implement and execute strategies for success, delivering on the needs of a variety of clients and initiatives.
Recognized for his consistently strong performance, Mr. Wehking shifted into executive roles beginning in 2015 when he became senior manager of supply chain economics. In 2018, he accepted the position of director of supply chain economics, overseeing $150 billion in wholesale pharmaceutical pricing annually. Working directly with Express Scripts’ chief financial officer and chief administrative officer, Mr. Wehking offered his insight as a task force captain for new products and evaluated the impact of contracting initiatives on the firm’s budget. In his final roles with Express Scripts, he was the senior director of financial planning and analysis for one year and the senior director of pharmacy business development and planning for one year. Before leaving the company in 2021, Mr. Wehking put together a team of analysts and a set of analytics policies to efficiently monitor more than 200 million annual transactions. He also helped craft a five-year strategic plan, aiding the company’s long-term viability.
Mr. Wehking set himself up for success with his education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Mr. Wehking was named Employee of the Quarter and Finance Employee of the Year by Express Scripts in honor of achievements. He attributes his accomplishments to his ability to work with numerous exceptional leaders and mentors who offered him new perspectives and encouragement to keep learning and improving.
