Dr. Campbell has established himself as a prominent figure in economic development as a leading entrepreneur. As the owner, president, and chief executive officer of Third Eye Network (TEN) since 2020, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision. Dr. Campbell’s role involves overseeing operations and strategic initiatives that have significantly impacted the business landscape. Headquartered in Rochester, New York, TEN is a consulting company that collaborates with ecosystem builders, software developers, business resource providers, creatives, community organizers, organizational coaches, and grantmakers. His firm has been influential across various sectors, including nonprofit and government entities, higher education, the arts, and entertainment, among others.
In addition to his primary responsibilities at TEN, Dr. Campbell has served on the leadership council of the Ecosystem Building Leadership Network, a national board position, since 2023. He has also been the interim chief executive officer of the Rochester Economic Development Corporation (REDCO) since 2023. REDCO is notably a client of TEN. These roles underscore Dr. Campbell’s commitment to fostering economic growth and community development.
Before his current endeavors, Dr. Campbell served as the chief executive officer and managing partner of Susu Management Group LLC, a black-owned business in Rochester, from 2014 to 2023. Between 2018 and 2021, he directed the Mayor’s Office of Community Wealth Building in Rochester, where he pioneered initiatives to support local businesses. Dr. Campbell’s early experiences included co-founding Ballet Afrikana: Dance Prep Academy, where he contributed as an Africologist and Afrikana instructor from 2014 to 2020, teaching as an instructor, affirmative action coordinator and interim school specialist at Monroe Community College between 2011 and 2018, and teaching information technology courses at Bryant & Stratton College from 2011 to 2012. He initially founded TEN in 2003, which he ran for nearly a decade until 2012, ultimately returning to his entrepreneurial roots in 2020.
Dr. Campbell’s academic journey began with an Associate of Science in business administration from Monroe Community College in 2005. Subsequently, he received a Bachelor of Science in 2007 and an Executive Master of Business Administration in 2009 from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Dr. Campbell later acquired a Doctor of Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus in 2019.
Further enhancing his expertise, Dr. Campbell holds a certificate of completion in leading economic growth from Harvard Kennedy School’s executive education program, is an emotional emancipation circles facilitator certified by the Community Healing Network Inc., is a certified Kemetic Yoga teacher through YogaSkills School of Kemetic Yoga and is a registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Additionally, Dr. Campbell is Lean Six Sigma black belt certified by Monroe Community College and holds a project management professional designation from the Project Management Institute.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Campbell is actively involved in civic organizations, including Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons. He also serves on the boards of trustees for the Gamma Iota Boulé Foundation and the Eta Rho Lambda Chapter Education Foundation. Dr. Campbell’s dedication to community service was previously exemplified by his role as the co-founder and immediate past president of the Greater Rochester Black Business Alliance Inc.
Looking ahead, Dr. Campbell aims to expand his firm into new regions while supporting small businesses through Tenacity Resource Group. Through consulting, back-office support, and commercial real estate ventures, he seeks to transform communities socially and economically.
