David Slagle Jr., manager of business development and director of the United States and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business development representative (BDR) program at Minitab LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in sales and business development.
Originally pursuing a career in education, Mr. Slagle taught second grade at Prince George’s County Public Schools and fourth grade at the Harrisburg School District. After several years on this path, he found himself frustrated and concerned for the future. Though Mr. Slagle enjoyed working with students and seeing them succeed, he worried about looking back and regretting staying in a profession that he couldn’t excel at. With that in mind, he made the decision to completely rethink his trajectory.
Supported by his family and friends, Mr. Slagle shifted into sales in 2016 as a licensed insurance producer in workers’ compensation for ADP. Quickly establishing himself in this organization, he was promoted to the positions of associate sales executive and sales executive. Building off of these initial experiences in sales, Mr. Slagle took on the role of manager at Avalara in 2022, later becoming a senior manager and senior sales leader for the U.S. BDR program. While there, he managed an outbound program and scaled it from 18 people to 66 before he was done.
Since 2025, Mr. Slagle has served as the manager of business development and director of the U.S. and EMEA BDR program at Minitab LLC. An esteemed software company with over 50 years of history, Minitab collaborates with clients in the manufacturing space to provide meaningful data that can be utilized in business decisions. Mr. Slagle has been given the responsibility of growing the company’s crucial team of business development representatives across multiple regions. He has particularly appreciated the opportunity to gain wider cultural perspectives by working directly with others around the world.
Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Slagle sought out his own education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education with a focus on elementary education from Shippensburg University in 2014. In support of his change in career, Mr. Slagle has continued learning new skills. He was licensed in Pennsylvania property and casualty insurance from the United Latina Students Association and as a teacher from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. In 2024, Mr. Slagle obtained life coaching certification from the Jay Shetty Certification School.
In commemoration of his accomplishments, Mr. Slagle has been the recipient of numerous accolades throughout his career. He was named a Top Producer across multiple quarters while working at ADP and was invited to be part of the company’s President’s Club in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He was also honored by ADP’s board of directors in 2018.
Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Slagle devotes time to causes he cares about. He has volunteered with the Special Olympics since 2013 and as a junior varsity basketball coach with the Bethlehem Area School District since 2023. A lover of dogs, Mr. Slagle is associated with The Sanctuary at Haafsville, a no-kill animal shelter, where he has run dogs four times a week to help with their health and behavior and has aided in organizing fundraising events. He also joins his wife once a month in cooking and serving dinner for homeless individuals at the Victory House of Lehigh Valley.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Slagle is a loving husband to Catherine, who is the vice president of sales at ADP. Outside of work, he finds fulfillment in physical activities, including hiking, running and playing softball, basketball and golf, as well as traveling and exploring different cultures. Looking ahead, Mr. Slagle is focused on his efforts to expand Minitab’s BDR program for the foreseeable future. He hopes to craft an initiative that can successfully serve the company for decades to come. Mr. Slagle gains great satisfaction from building projects from the ground up and seeing them through to completion. He is eager to continue doing so for the rest of his career.
