Josh Lanning, project director at Primax Properties LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in real estate.
Though Mr. Lanning’s professional life has only spanned 10 years so far, he has been learning important lessons through hard work for much longer than that. At the age of 10, he saved up $40 to purchase a lawn mower and began mowing lawns. With this early experience instilling in him a strong sense of diligence, Mr. Lanning spent four years as a carpenter with Basswaves Inc. In this role, he assisted with home repairs and supervised other employees.
Shifting to pursue a career in real estate investment, Mr. Lanning became an agent concierge at Keller Williams Realty LLC in 2015, followed by several years as a leasing consultant at Brown Investment Properties. He joined Primax Properties LLC as a commercial property manager in 2015. Quickly recognized for his expertise, Mr. Lanning was promoted to development associate and then project director. He has held that position since 2025.
For his work with Primax Properties, Mr. Lanning aids national retailers in finding commercial land to develop new properties on. He oversees the entirety of these projects, from locating land that fits the client’s needs to collaborating with engineers and architects who facilitate building property. Mr. Lanning prides himself on fostering and maintaining strong relationships with his clients by recognizing their values. One of his greatest achievements was contributing to the creation of an urgent care center that has provided medical care to nearby rural communities.
Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Lanning established his credentials through his education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2015. Mr. Lanning took his academic commitments very seriously, as highlighted by achieving perfect grades for one semester. He credits much of his career success to the guidance he received at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, as well as the support of other mentors and his parents. Due to the insight he has been offered over the years, Mr. Lanning now makes it a point to provide mentorship to others wherever he can. He hopes to be an example of how hard work can pay off.
Mr. Lanning has further solidified his knowledge through membership in industry-related organizations. He remains affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers. This group promotes the development of marketplaces, malls and other economic hubs that it views as fundamental to the life of communities. Mr. Lanning firmly supports the growth of these spaces, especially within rural areas in the southeastern United States that are being transformed into suburbs.
A volunteer within his local community, Mr. Lanning sees value in advocating for causes he cares about. He is an active member of his local church and considers his faith deeply important. Mr. Lanning served on the board of The Good Samaritan Foundation for three years. Additionally, he has participated in fundraisers supporting breast cancer awareness.
Beyond his professional ventures, Mr. Lanning is deeply devoted to his family, including his spouse and four children, ranging in age from 2 to 10. In his free time, he relaxes by enjoying outdoor activities, especially boating on lakes and rivers, as well as traveling with his family. Having built a reputation for himself at Primax Properties across the last 7 years, Mr. Lanning looks forward to continuing to assist the company and progress his career. In particular, he aims to acquire new clients and nurture strong, lasting relationships with them.
