As the founder and principal consultant of Landon Waters Consulting since 2025, he has dedicated his practice to diagnosing and addressing leadership dysfunction in high-stakes environments. His work includes creating customized performance blueprints for departments and executive teams, facilitating Red Line Leadership keynotes and workshops for police, military units and corporate clients, and working directly with C-suite executives, among other daily objectives.

Drawing on his extensive background in military psychology and industrial-organizational psychology, Mr. Waters serves law enforcement, military personnel, veterans and nonprofit organizations that blend these fields. He is recognized for his ability to bridge communication gaps and implement organizational changes that veterans encounter when transitioning from the military to the civilian sector. Through needs analyses, focus groups with subject matter experts and comprehensive 360-degree feedback, Mr. Waters provides clients with detailed reports to guide organizational improvement.

In 2024, Mr. Waters gained national recognition as a TEDx speaker. His TED Talk on veteran integration through education ranked number 18 among the Top 50 TED Talks of the Year and garnered over one million views within three months. The talk resonated deeply with veterans across the country, including his brother, highlighting Mr. Waters’s impact as a thought leader in veteran affairs.

Adding to his expertise, Mr. Waters authored “From Red Dot to Red Circle: Master the Art of Speaking, Influence and Leadership with Military Precision” in 2025. This book serves as a practical manual for public speaking, drawing on principles from industrial-organizational psychology and his military experience. It is the first installment in his upcoming series “The Red Series,” which will address topics such as leadership development, leadership emergence, organizational development and relationships.

Mr. Waters contributed to academia as a department assistant at the University of Tulsa from 2023 to 2025 while pursuing graduate studies in industrial-organizational psychology on campus. His professional journey began with service as an Apache maintainer in the U.S. Army from 2008 to 2016. Enlisting at age 18, Mr. Waters developed advanced troubleshooting skills while maintaining Apache helicopters.

Following his military service, Mr. Waters transitioned into law enforcement with the U.S. Department of Defense from 2016 to 2022. He served successively as a police officer, police sergeant and lieutenant during this period. Mr. Waters also became heavily involved in leadership training and policy development, recognizing recurring challenges related to organizational culture and resistance to change.

In 2022, Mr. Waters expanded his focus to behavioral health as a behavioral health case manager II at CREOKS Behavioral Health Services before advancing to employment specialist from 2022 to 2023. He also completed a student trainee role in information technology at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2024.

Mr. Waters’s academic achievements have been instrumental in shaping his career trajectory. He holds an Associate of Science in criminal justice and police science from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma, since 2020, a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and criminal justice from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma since 2022, and a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma, since 2025. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Waters received certification as a behavioral health case manager II, issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, State of Oklahoma, in 2022.

Throughout his career, Mr. Waters has been an active member of several organizations, including the Globe Life Vena Organization, the University of Tulsa Alumni Office of Alumni Engagement, and the University of Tulsa chapter of Student Veterans of America. Additionally, he serves as a volunteer with Coffee Bunker, a community organization that supports veterans.

Mr. Waters attributes his success to a strong work ethic combined with technological proficiency and adherence to core values. Looking ahead, he intends to complete a doctorate in industrial-organizational psychology, expand his keynote speaking engagements, grow his consulting practice, produce podcasts, and become a prominent figure who gives back to the community.
