Title: Senior Loan Officer
Company: Movement Mortgage
Location: Spokane, Washington, United States

Daniel C. Crittenden, senior loan officer at Movement Mortgage, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in the finance industry.

Hailing from a family built upon an impressive and longstanding military history, Mr. Crittenden has built a decades-spanning career in residential lending rooted in the values of trust, rapport and consistency. Coming of age shortly following the conclusion of the Vietnam War draft, he shifted his attention towards education, pursuing formal studies in pre-law at the University of Washington. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1980, he eventually became interested in the field after his introduction to a title insurance company, for which he assisted lenders in the Washington area as a sales representative. After fielding offers from multiple mortgage lenders, Mr. Crittenden ultimately seized an opportunity to work as a loan officer for Rainier Mortgage from 1986 to 1989.

Mr. Crittenden later refined his skills as a senior lending officer with Washington Mutual Savings Bank from 1989 to 1994 and First Horizon Home Loans and Emerald Mortgage from 1994 to 2000. Soon thereafter, he became one of the twelve original employees of Cobalt Mortgage in 2000, utilizing his positions as a senior loan consultant and senior mortgage planner to grow the business into becoming the seventeenth largest mortgage lender in the United States. After merging with Caliber Home Loans, the company then scaled its operations further, eventually reaching the number two spot nationwide prior to Mr. Crittenden’s departure in 2022.

Since 2022, Mr. Crittenden has found much success as a senior loan officer at Movement Mortgage. In this role, he goes above and beyond to ensure he creates a genuine connection with his clients, building a foundation of trust on which their professional relationship can thrive. Personally managing each file from the initial conversation to approval from his underwriters, he takes much pride in maintaining direct control over each critical stage of the loan application process. Furthermore, Mr. Crittenden is incredibly grateful for his stellar reputation as an accountable and reliable figure in lending, noting that his realtor partners have worked with him for decades and never witnessed any of his deals fall through or fail to close.

With a focus on company-driven marketing to attract new clients, Mr. Crittenden also devotes his time and attention to Movement Mortgage’s presence on social media. He additionally remains closely connected with his network of realtors, many of whom he has worked with since the mid-1980s. Moreover, Mr. Crittenden consistently makes an effort to keep in touch with past clients, valuing long-term relationships as a key part of his ongoing success.

A firm believer in exceeding expectations in an environment that woefully undervalues good customer service, Mr. Crittenden often puts himself in the shoes of his customers. He fondly recalls an exceptionally emotional moment in his career in which he helped a young woman become a homeowner after she endured a difficult divorce, as he knew he played a significant role in enabling her to start a new chapter of her life. Mr. Crittenden is also noted for his ability to rank among the top four mortgage loan officers with First Horizon Home Loans in the U.S. between 1997 and 1999, having likewise been featured on a Top 200 list for mortgage production. Over his 39 years in the industry, he has closed more than $1 billion in mortgage loans.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Crittenden is exceptionally dedicated to his growing family, including his two wonderful daughters and five amazing grandchildren. He is a firm believer in the balance of work and personal endeavors, as he believes the time he commits to his job is only matched by his active participation in the lives of his immediate family. Beyond his efforts as a father and grandfather, Mr. Crittenden enjoys spending his spare time playing in a men’s senior softball league, having proudly competed in the sport for the past three years.

In addition to his work in lending, Mr. Crittenden has contributed to several local community programs as well as the fundraising committee for the Spokane Home Builders Association. He was also formerly elected as the president for the South Spokane chapter of Rotary International. He has attributed his success to the influence of his father, who flourished in sales throughout four U.S. states and British Columbia. However, his father was a habitual procrastinator at home, which frustrated his family and inspired Mr. Crittenden to prioritize prompt service and time management skills.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Crittenden hopes to maintain and grow his professional output at Movement Mortgage as he helps foster a client list of prospective homeowners in achieving their wealth-building goals. He also aims to cement his legacy as a figure in his industry driven by purpose, satisfaction, and the unwavering love for his work. Ultimately, Mr. Crittenden wants to ensure he spends as much of the coming years as possible alongside his loving family.
