José Gomez, senior global solutions architect and field chief technology officer at Satori, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cybersecurity and technology.
For the past 25 years, Mr. Gomez has positioned himself as a reliable leader and an expert in the field of cybersecurity. He kicked off his career as the vice president of technology and research and development at Event Ready, a company that creates software and technology solutions for events. Associated with that organization for 15 years, Mr. Gomez oversaw sales and delivery for the company’s consulting services. In addition to gaining sales experience, he coordinated across different teams and learned how to solve complex problems with limited resources.
Deciding to shift his career to focus more on cybersecurity in 2015, Mr. Gomez joined Imperva as a senior security sales engineer for strategic accounts in the western United States. He later accepted additional responsibilities at Imperva as principal sales engineer and sales engineering manager. In 2024, Mr. Gomez contributed to Elisity as the field chief technical officer. This role included advising on market trends and new technologies, as well as maintaining existing relationships with clients and cultivating new opportunities.
Since 2024, Mr. Gomez has served as the senior global solutions architect and field chief technology officer at Satori. This company develops and sells a number of technologies and products related to database security. Mr. Gomez provides demos to prospective customers, conducts market research to stay on top of advancements and fluctuations in the industry, and consults with analysts to determine risks and opportunities for Satori’s growth in the future. He also advocates on behalf of the company at industry events and demonstrates strong understanding of the cybersecurity needs of numerous sectors, including health care, technology, finance and small businesses.
Beyond his primary vocation, Mr. Gomez has also showcased his skills as a business owner, operating the wine and tapas bar The Vine since 2018. Initially expanding the business to three locations, he has now sold two of them to focus on the original bar, which is located in the historic district of Folsom, California. At The Vine, Mr. Gomez prides himself on offering an intimate yet casual atmosphere with diverse food options and a large wine list featuring both regional and international options. It has been voted Best Wine Bar five years in a row.
Mr. Gomez’s performance in the field was born of his academic journey. He obtained an Associate of Applied Science in electronics engineering and network technology from Heald College in 1999. Subsequently, Mr. Gomez earned a second Associate of Applied Science in electrical and electronics engineering from Kaplan College in 2000. He was certified as an Amazon Web Services solutions architect associate in 2017 and in Google artificial intelligence essentials through Coursera in 2024.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Gomez has been awarded a number of notable accolades. Throughout his career, he has been invited as a panelist for a variety of chief information security officer conferences. In 2022, Mr. Gomez was named as a Top Latino Leader by the Council for Latino Workplace Equity. He considers this honor to be one of the proudest moments of his career so far.
Outside of his career. Mr. Gomez is a dedicated husband. He enjoys spending his free time flying and riding motorcycles. Though committed to his current role with Satori for the foreseeable future, Mr. Gomez considers himself open to any opportunities that might come his way. He intends to stay within the technology field and continue building on his cybersecurity skills, but otherwise is not sure what form the next phase of his career will take. Mr. Gomez has considered starting his own company, but he would also be fulfilled working with other organizations to innovate in the space, or even returning to school to expand his expertise. Whatever he does, he hopes to mentor others and help them grow.
