Daniel Paul Connors, Road Test Examiner at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in Customer Service.

Mr. Connors has established a distinguished career in public service and customer relations, currently serving as a road test examiner for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in Quincy, Massachusetts, since 2022. In this capacity, he is responsible for checking in customers, printing rosters, inspecting vehicles used by applicants, conducting road tests and discussing results with each applicant. Mr. Connors also takes pride in recognizing the personal significance of each applicant’s journey, especially for teenagers and immigrants.

Before his current role, Mr. Connors excelled as a customer service representative at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation from 2021 to 2022. His responsibilities included providing direct support to customers navigating state services, where he received various informal acknowledgments from clients for his dedication to quality service.

Leveraging his prior experience, Mr. Connors served as a professional driving instructor at Teachers Driving Academy in Norton, Massachusetts, between 2019 and 2021. He provided instruction to new drivers, helping them develop safe driving habits and preparing them for licensure. This position served as a natural segue into Mr. Connors’s current profession, facilitated by longstanding connections within the registry and encouragement from mentors who recognized his aptitude for teaching and public service.

Simultaneously, Mr. Connors held the position of assistant count team manager at Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville, Massachusetts, from 2019 to 2021, following his tenure as count team supervisor between 2015 and 2019 and as an assistant count team supervisor from 2015 to 2016. In these roles, he managed financial operations related to casino revenue, supervised staff and ensured compliance with regulatory standards.

Mr. Connors’s diverse professional background also included employment in banking and retail. While pursuing his degrees, he completed a summer internship for Senator James Timilty.

After obtaining a diploma from Mansfield High School in 2005, Mr. Connors completed coursework in liberal arts and sciences at Bristol Community College in 2011. He then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from Bridgewater State University in 2012. Additionally, Mr. Connors completed coursework in pre-theology and pre-ministerial studies at Saint John’s Seminary in 2013. The breadth of his education has equipped him with analytical skills, ethical grounding and adaptability. These qualities have significantly supported his professional achievements.

Mr. Connors is actively involved in industry-related organizations, including the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. Civically, he has been affiliated with the Knights of Columbus for over a decade, since 2013, and has served as a vestry member at large at All Saints’ Episcopal Church since 2023. Additionally, Mr. Connors has been actively volunteering with Give Kids the World since 2007 and My Brother’s Keeper since 2013.

In recognition of his early success in customer relations, Mr. Connors received a Customer Service Award from Shaw’s, which is owned by Albertsons, in 2006. He attributes his success to perseverance, optimism and an unwavering sense of humor. His path into public service was shaped by several influential mentors, as well as family members whose guidance instilled in him resilience and strong values.

Mr. Connors remains open to new opportunities, whether continuing his work with the state or pursuing broader roles, such as serving as a state representative or pursuing ordination within the Episcopal Church. He is also considering returning to school for a master’s degree, but remains flexible about future directions.
