Mr. Throne’s earlier roles at Vortran Laser Technology Inc. included sales director in 2010. He then transitioned into becoming vice president of sales and marketing, where he led initiatives that strengthened the company’s market presence.
In addition to his responsibilities at Vortran Laser Technology Inc., Mr. Throne has served as the managing director of Light Source Systems Inc. in Sacramento, California, since 2020, where he continues to guide strategic direction and business development. He has also been the vice president of worldwide sales for the organization since 2020, where he has successfully negotiated accounts with some of the largest suppliers globally. Mr. Throne’s ability to deliver high-quality products at competitive prices, coupled with exceptional customer service, has positioned the company as a leader in biophotonics and has expanded its reach into several industrial sectors, such as liquid crystal display manufacturing and semiconductor production.
From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Throne was the original equipment manufacturer sales manager at Pavilion Integration, where he managed key accounts and developed new business opportunities within the photonics sector. His professional journey began with positions in sales at Inter-Tel between 2004 and 2005 and at Global Village from 1995 to 1997. Between these roles, Mr. Throne was a product manager at Blue Sky Research. Throughout his career, Mr. Throne has demonstrated a commitment to professional development and industry engagement.
Mr. Throne’s academic foundation included a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from California State University, Chico, earned in 1994. He is an active member of the Society of Photonics and Integrated Electronics and the Optical Society, reflecting his dedication to advancing photonics research and collaboration within the field.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Throne is actively involved in civic organizations. Since 2004, he has volunteered with the National Ski Patrol at Northstar at Tahoe, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to public safety and outdoor recreation. Since 2023, he has served as a board member for Flights to Freedom, contributing leadership to initiatives focused on community support. Previously, Mr. Throne served on the board of the Sacramento Sheriff’s Air Squadron from 2023 to 2024. He also spent many years coaching his sons’ soccer teams, a testament to his commitment to family involvement and youth development.
