Mr. Bartley is an expert in manufacturing, currently serving as a part-time management consultant based in Kingsport, Tennessee, since 2025. Leveraging his years of success, he retired from The Robinette Company, a printer and manufacturer of flexible packaging for food and beverage, pet and other industries. As a production supervisor for the organization from 2023 to 2025, Mr. Bartley was responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety, quality and productivity across the organization. As such, he supervised a shift of employees, coordinated a demanding 12-hour 2-3-2 schedule, and maintained direct accountability for a team of both eight-hour and twelve-hour employees, managing between approximately 40 individuals at any given time. Mr. Bartley’s expertise in training and mentoring employees, as well as his proficiency in leadership training, was instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Before joining The Robinette Company, Mr. Bartley held various progressive roles, including as a production manager at Cornerstone Building Brands from 2022 to 2023 and as a site manager at Brock Group between 2017 and 2020. It was during his tenure with Brock Group, a leading provider of industrial specialty services, that he achieved one of his most notable professional milestones, which included the significant improvement of safety performance at the site. Mr. Bartley launched an innovative program that encouraged employees to take ownership of their personal safety, resulting in measurable enhancements in workplace safety culture.
Affiliated with Brock Group for over 10 years, Mr. Bartley gained early expertise as a division manager from 2007 to 2017. In this role, he implemented strategic initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the division.
Mr. Bartley’s academic background has played a pivotal role in his professional achievements. He earned an Associate of Science in engineering from Southwest Virginia Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Tech. These academic credentials have equipped him with a strong foundation in both technical knowledge and business acumen. In addition to his formal education, Mr. Bartley obtained credentials as a certified production technician and certified logistics technician.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mr. Bartley is actively engaged in civic organizations that reflect his commitment to community service. He has been involved with United Way of Greater Kingsport, contributing to initiatives that support local families and individuals. Additionally, he served as a board member for Goodwill Industries International from 2012 to 2024, including a term as chair of the board in 2018. Mr. Bartley’s leadership within these organizations has had a positive impact on both the community and his own approach to servant leadership.
Mr. Bartley attributes his success to his genuine love of others, his extensive experience within the manufacturing sector and the mentorship he received from influential figures throughout his career. Moreover, his early experiences working in hazardous environments, such as coal mining, instilled in him a deep respect for safety, quality and productivity. These values have guided his ascent from quality manager to senior leadership roles.
Looking ahead, Mr. Bartley envisions developing future leaders within his organization by mentoring hourly employees for advancement into higher-level positions. His goal is to ensure their continued success and acquire advanced positions within the field.
