For nearly 45 years, Mr. Jones has demonstrated an impressive degree of skill and leadership in the world of sales. That journey began in 1981 as a manager with Guardian Royal Exchange in his home country of the United Kingdom. Associated with that company for almost 20 years, Mr. Jones grew his expertise in insurance. He contributed during this time as manager of major Dutch and French insurance companies and also built up his sales knowledge through selling a range of offerings, including 401(k), private health insurance and more.
In 1999, Mr. Jones joined Korn Ferry, formerly the Miller Heiman Group, where he would spend more than 25 years working through a variety of positions. He initially served as the vice president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), where he helped expand the company’s revenue in the region by 10 percent. After immigrating to the United States in 2003, Mr. Jones was promoted to chief executive officer and later international president for the EMEA region. In 2010, he was promoted to managing director of global and strategic accounts, overseeing 10 key multimillion-dollar portfolios.
Holding the role of executive vice president of enterprise accounts sales performance at Korn Ferry from 2012 to 2016, Mr. Jones’ leadership led to the company increasing its productivity by $400k in three years. In his final position with the company, he accepted the responsibilities of managing director of North American sales from 2016 to 2019. Demonstrating his value to the company, Mr. Jones oversaw the global account management and sales teams, emphasizing revenue growth and new customer acquisition. His contributions played a major part in increasing value before the company’s sale to Korn Ferry.
Mr. Jones was recruited by Sandler Training in 2020, first joining as the company’s head of global strategy and growth. In 2022, he was promoted to executive vice president of Sandler Training’s enterprise group. Mr. Jones then shifted to Chief Outsiders, where he took on the position of fractional chief sales officer. For this job, he offered consulting services to executives and sales leaders of other organizations, offering insights to improve their sales strategy and increase revenue and profitability growth.
Building on his years of sales experience and lessons learned from his consulting role, Mr. Jones launched his own company, Damon Jones Sales Coaching in 2024. Continuing his focus on assisting executives, he has collaborated with startups, large corporations and mid-level companies looking to grow. Through this venture, Mr. Jones was brought on as a part-time chief revenue officer for Merlin Technology GmbH, a sales-as-a-service business. He has also provided consulting and coaching intervention for cold call outreach programs.
Outside of his career, Mr. Jones is a dedicated husband and a loving father to two children, Nathaniel and Alexander. He is eager to continue growing Damon Jones Sales Coaching over the coming years. Mr. Jones envisions retiring eventually but enjoys his current work and remaining active too much to fully retire now. He looks forward to maintaining some professional involvement while also enjoying more free time at home with his wife.
