Ms. Young has established herself as a leading expert in compliance with a career spanning 15 years marked by innovation, dedication and a commitment to excellence. Since 2020, she has served as a senior manager of global compliance at QIAGEN, a biotechnology research organization based in Venlo, Limburg, Netherlands, overseeing critical regulatory and compliance functions for the organization.
In addition to her primary role at QIAGEN, Ms. Young is the founder and owner of ChulaVie, an award-winning spirits brand she launched after years of research, experimentation and refinement. Her expertise in spirit and wine making, particularly her sangria product, has quickly garnered industry acclaim. The launch of ChulaVie stands as Ms. Young’s proudest professional achievement, reflecting her entrepreneurial drive and her ability to bring a unique product to market in a highly competitive industry.
The inspiration for ChulaVie emerged from Ms. Young’s curiosity about sangria after experimenting with cocktails alongside a friend. What began as kitchen experiments evolved into recipe development, feedback collection, and ultimately the creation of a proprietary product line. After perfecting her recipes over the course of more than a year, Ms. Young launched ChulaVie in 2021 and officially established the business in 2023. By 2024, she had navigated the complexities of sourcing ingredients and partnering with co-packers to manufacture and bottle her product according to exacting standards.
Ms. Young’s earlier career included advisory roles that highlight her versatility and commitment to supporting other organizations. From 2020 to 2021, she served as an advisory board member for Biens Chocolate Centerpieces and The ShareWaves Foundation, as well as an adviser for AdvisoryCloud. In these capacities, Ms. Young provided strategic guidance and leveraged her legal and compliance expertise to help shape organizational direction.
Having established a strong foundation in legal services, Ms. Young served as a senior paralegal in litigation at Volkswagen Group of America from 2018 to 2020, where she managed complex legal matters and contributed to high-stakes cases. Between 2011 and 2018, she worked as a paralegal at Alisa Kobrinetz Chernack LLC.
Ms. Young’s academic achievements have played a pivotal role in her professional success. She received an Associate of Arts in paralegal studies and a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies, magna cum laude, from Liberty University in 2017, as well as a Master of Studies in Law with a focus on compliance and business from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 2020.
Returning to school as an adult while working full-time, Ms. Young’s determination has been central to her achievements both academically and professionally. She credits her mother for instilling compassion and support, while her entrepreneurial spirit was shaped by observing her father manage multiple businesses and prioritize financial discipline.
Throughout her journey, Ms. Young benefited from passive mentoring, learning through observation and collaboration with colleagues, particularly female attorneys, during her tenure at law firms. In light of her success, she was recognized through a feature in Qiagen Magazine, underscoring her impact within QIAGEN and the broader compliance field. Meanwhile, the rapid success of Ms. Young’s sangria has been recognized with two Gold Medals at the New York International Wine Competition, a Gold Medal for non-vintage wine, the title of Red Sangria of the Year and a Silver Medal at the American Sangria Challenge.
Ms. Young is committed to being remembered as someone who gives unwavering effort in every endeavor, valued for hard work, positivity and kindness. Looking ahead, she aims to manage ChulaVie full time while building a legacy through her entrepreneurial endeavors.
