Title: Senior Account Executive
Company: VSO Inc.
Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States
Sean Moriarty, senior account executive at VSO Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in information technology (IT) and sales.
Beginning his professional journey nearly 10 years ago, Mr. Moriarty initially pursued a career in education. His first job in 2017 was as a teacher and a basketball, track and tennis coach at St. Bernard Preparatory School. While Mr. Moriarty enjoyed working with middle school and high school students, he soon recognized that this path would make it difficult to afford starting a family, which was an important goal for his future. With that in mind, he changed directions in 2019, joining Monex USA, formerly Tempus Inc., as a sales intern while attending graduate school.
In his first opportunity after school, Mr. Moriarty became a sales representative at Clowder. This startup sold mobile apps built for membership-based organizations. Quickly recognized for his growth, Mr. Moriarty was promoted to the position of account executive after just three months at Clowder. He left the company in 2021, but his contributions helped propel it to success and led to its acquisition by Advanced Solutions International just two years later.
Moving on from Clowder, Mr. Moriarty took on the position of inside sales representative at Splunk LLC, a leading enterprise security company. During his time there, Splunk shifted its focus from on-location security to a cloud-based model, allowing him to build his expertise in cloud technology.
Further embracing his cloud expertise, Mr. Moriarty has served as a senior account executive at VSO Inc. (aka Virtual Service Operations) since 2022. Founded in 2017, VSO aims to be a global leader in the field of hybrid and cloud services while specifically providing opportunities to United States military veterans, such as entry-level IT roles, professional mentorship and certification guidance. That commitment resonated with Mr. Moriarty, who strongly believes in supporting veterans. He now manages numerous accounts for VSO, including federal and commercial partners.
Among his many accomplishments since joining VSO, Mr. Moriarty is especially proud of having secured a major contract with NASA. Through this contract, military service members nearing retirement from the military can spend their last few months as interns at NASA, gaining hands-on experience, certifications, and knowledge of the group’s tools and procedures. In addition to this contract, Mr. Moriarty oversees partnerships with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and several health care companies. He has been trusted with two of VSO’s biggest health care accounts, demonstrating his value to the company.
Mr. Moriarty’s performance in the field was born of his academic history. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in history from Belmont Abbey College in 2017. Subsequently, Mr. Moriarty earned a Master of Science in business from The Busch School of Business, part of The Catholic University of America, in 2020. He has further solidified his credentials through certification in LinkedIn, informational interviewing and stack skills.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Moriarty is a devoted husband and a loving father to four daughters. He enjoys playing basketball, playing the violin, coaching children’s soccer, spending time in the woods, riding bikes and getting ice cream with his children. Looking ahead, Mr. Moriarty intends to make major contributions to the growth of VSO Inc., increasing the company’s value and aiding in any potential future sale. He is also eager to have more children and provide a strong upbringing for his family, teaching his children about his faith and encouraging them to give back to the community. Mr. Moriarty’s long-term career goals include becoming the vice president of a company and closing million-dollar deals. He hopes to become a reliable mentor for younger sales representatives.
