Ms. Mislavskaia manages the overall operations of her company while also conducting weekly meetings with employees. From 2017 to 2019, Ms. Mislavskaia worked as a checker and purchasing manager at Ataman Food, where she was instrumental in streamlining procurement processes and ensuring quality control within the organization. Her earlier experience included her role as the regional chief financial officer at RIC between 1995 and 2016, where she oversaw financial operations across multiple regions and developed significant international audit experience.
Highly educated, Ms. Mislavskaia’s academic background included earning a master’s degree in accounting, analysis and audit in the Czech Republic. She also completed coursework toward a Master of Business Administration while managing business operations between Moscow and the Czech Republic. Ms. Mislavskaia’s commitment to professional development is evidenced by her completion of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants course in London, United Kingdom, and her receipt of the chartered certified accountant designation. Additionally, she holds certification as a notary public.
Ms. Mislavskaia’s early interest in accounting began during university studies when she gained practical experience across various sectors. After graduation, she spent several years building expertise before establishing an audit company in Moscow, which she managed for approximately five years. While pursuing further education in the Czech Republic, Ms. Mislavskaia launched another business there and managed both enterprises concurrently by traveling between countries each month. She also explored living in Israel with her family before ultimately settling in the United States.
Solidifying her reputation as a trusted professional, Ms. Mislavskaia’s most notable professional achievement occurred in Moscow, where her extensive experience in Russia earned her recognition among numerous companies familiar with her work. Her family background enhanced her long-standing presence in the region, as her father was recognized as a nobleman, contributing to her network of connections.
After relocating to the United States following her divorce, Ms. Mislavskaia faced cultural adjustments and language barriers. Still, she remained focused on professional growth by studying English and setting clear goals for herself. With determination and daily progress, Ms. Mislavskaia founded Volena Inc. and expanded its operations to include manufacturing in Chicago, Illinois, traveling weekly between locations to ensure success. Despite setbacks, she maintained business continuity through collaboration with partners in Canada.
Looking ahead, Ms. Mislavskaia aspires to contribute to government initiatives as an advisory board member focused on small and medium-sized businesses. She plans to leverage her experience working with the IRS to improve processes for entrepreneurs navigating regulatory environments. Ms. Mislavskaia also remains committed to professional growth through additional courses and engagement with forums related to taxation and public administration.
