Title: Western U.S. Sales Manager
Company: Stellar
Location: Hooper, Utah, United States
Thomas R. Griffiths, Western U.S. Sales Manager at Stellar, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements and leadership in the Tire Industry.
Mr. Griffiths has become an established professional in the tire sector, marked by over 25 years in progressive leadership roles, resulting in a deep commitment to technical excellence and workforce development. In 2024, he assumed the position of western U.S. sales manager at Stellar, where he supports independent tire dealers and large-scale mega dealers across the region. Mr. Griffiths’s responsibilities include forecasting and budgeting for high-value service trucks, such as $600,000 mobile cranes, providing technical support to field workers for both equipment troubleshooting and tire changing guidance, and managing essential administrative functions. He is also dedicated to ensuring his team selects the right equipment for each job, reflecting his long-standing appreciation for the intricacies of tire selection, speed ratings and rubber compounds.
Before being acquired by Stellar, Mr. Griffiths was an off-the-road region sales manager at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company from 2018 to 2024. His success and expertise during this time led to an invitation as a featured speaker at ConExpo in 2023, where he addressed topics such as tire safety, wheel safety and wheel inspections within the earth mover industry. Since then, Mr. Griffiths has continued to receive invitations to speak at industry events focused on these critical subjects.
Between 2016 and 2018, Mr. Griffiths held the role of Utah zone OTR sales manager at Commercial Tire. He initially worked for the organization from 2001 to 2006 in OTR sales in service. His earlier experience also included a decade-long tenure as a fleet tire manager at Staker Parson Companies from 2006 to 2016.
Mr. Griffiths’s early exposure to the industry began much earlier, while in middle school, when he worked alongside his grandfather at the family’s tire business in Ogden, Utah. Although initially encouraged toward academics by his father, Mr. Griffiths found fulfillment in witnessing vehicles leave with new tires and took pride in the transformation they represented. This passion persisted through his work with large earth mover tires and continues today during training sessions with new technicians.
Mr. Griffiths holds a high school diploma from Ogden High School. He further distinguished himself as a certified TIA earthmover OTR trainer through the Tire Industry Association, enabling him to teach and support others within the field.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Griffiths is civically engaged as a volunteer coach for high school mountain biking teams, sharing his enthusiasm for outdoor activities with younger generations.
During his tenure at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Mr. Griffiths earned significant recognition, including being honored as Salesman of the Year, a milestone he considers a significant achievement in his professional journey. He was also named Off-Highway Salesperson of the Year in 2021.
As a third-generation tire professional, Mr. Griffiths believes that dedication to this trade becomes ingrained over time. He has never regretted his decision to remain in the field and is committed to elevating the status of tire fitters as skilled professionals. In addition to his career commitments, Mr. Griffiths remains steadfast about advancing professionally at Stellar and within the broader tire industry, while advocating for greater recognition of tire fitters as highly skilled tradespeople responsible for operating complex equipment and performing critical tasks under demanding conditions.
