From 2020 to 2023, Mr. Hunter advanced to senior specialist in retail trading at TD Ameritrade, where he delivered expert guidance on trading strategies and market analysis.
In addition to his corporate roles, Mr. Hunter has been the owner of Hunter Ventures, a rental home business, since 2019. This entrepreneurial endeavor reflects his commitment to diversifying his professional experience and contributing to the local housing market.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hunter served as a recruiter at Aureus Medical Group in Omaha in 2019, where he identified and placed health care professionals across various medical settings. From 2017 to 2019, he gained valuable marketing experience as an intern at Swanson Russell in Lincoln, Nebraska. Mr. Hunter also worked as a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual in Lincoln between 2016 and 2017, providing clients with tailored financial planning solutions. During the same period, he was an operations intern with the Lincoln Stars hockey organization, supporting event logistics and team operations.
Throughout his academic tenure at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Mr. Hunter demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership and advocacy. He earned a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing on campus in 2019. During his studies, he co-founded the College Diabetes Network chapter on campus alongside his best friend, who has type 1 diabetes. Recognizing the need for peer support among students managing diabetes, they successfully advocated for the organization’s introduction at the university and overcame significant funding challenges by collaborating with their fraternity. This initiative not only provided critical resources for students but also laid the groundwork for Mr. Hunter’s ongoing dedication to community-focused projects.
Mr. Hunter’s academic achievements are complemented by several industry certifications that have enhanced his expertise in finance and client service, including Series 7, Series 63, Securities Industry Essentials, Series 3 and Series 9, all through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as well as a certified nursing assistant license.
Actively involved with several professional organizations linked to his alma mater, Mr. Hunter has served as an ambassador and vice president of recruitment for the College of Business Ambassador program since 2014, executive team member and board member of the student ethics board at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 2016, and co-founder and external vice president of the College Diabetes Network chapter since 2016.
Mr. Hunter’s dedication extends beyond his professional life into civic engagement and volunteerism. Since 2006, he has contributed to community events through Tabitha Health and has supported animal welfare initiatives as a volunteer with Muddy Paws. Mr. Hunter has also volunteered as a nurse assistant at various nursing homes and local hospitals in Omaha, Nebraska, and has served as a mentor for students at the college of business at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
In light of his success during his tenure at TD Ameritrade, Mr. Hunter has been recognized through multiple awards, including the three President’s Club Awards from 2020 to 2021 and a Best of the Best Award in 2021.
