From 2023 to 2025, Mr. Sharma served as vice president of life sciences technology strategy at Deloitte Consulting LLP. In this capacity, he led efforts to integrate advanced technologies into client operations, focusing on digital transformation within the pharmaceutical industry. His leadership facilitated the adoption of innovative solutions that improved research and development outcomes.

Prior to his tenure with Deloitte, Mr. Sharma held several key positions at HCLTech between 2011 and 2023. As global client partner for life sciences and healthcare from 2019 to 2023, he managed relationships with major pharmaceutical clients, driving business growth and delivering tailored solutions for complex industry challenges. Between 2017 and 2019, he worked as client partner for life sciences, where he focused on expanding HCLTech’s footprint in the sector by leveraging emerging technologies.

From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Sharma was active as the regional director and next generation research platform leader at HCLTech. He played a pivotal role in developing research-based platforms presented to organizations such as Gartner and the Drug Information Association (DIA). His efforts centered on automating technological applications onto unified platforms to generate actionable insights for the scientific community.

As senior account manager for life sciences from 2013 to 2015, Mr. Sharma managed key accounts and ensured the delivery of high-quality services to clients in the pharmaceutical industry. In his earlier role as account manager for life sciences from 2011 to 2013, he built foundational relationships that contributed to HCLTech’s growth in the sector.

Mr. Sharma’s experience also includes significant posts at Merck between 2008 and 2010. As program manager from 2009 to 2010, he oversaw critical projects supporting research and development initiatives. Recruited as a research and development business architect from 2008 to 2009, he contributed to process optimization efforts that enhanced operational efficiency.

Mr. Sharma additionally refined his professional skills as a business process management consultant at Johnson & Johnson in 2007 before his appointment as customer relationship management senior business analyst at MSD from 2007 to 2008. These roles provided him with early exposure to process improvement within global healthcare organizations. Mr. Sharma began his career as business management intern at Ranbaxy India Ltd in 2005 before advancing to become a senior management trainee for life sciences and healthcare at HCLTech from 2006 to 2007.

Throughout his career, Mr. Sharma has been involved with professional organizations such as the International Scientific Conference during his academic years in Delhi. After relocating to the United States, he maintained a long-standing affiliation with the Drug Information Association (DIA), where he made presentations and contributed to various initiatives aimed at advancing research-based platforms within the industry.

A highlight of Mr. Sharma’s career was his involvement in expediting clinical trials for a major oncology drug while collaborating with a leading pharmaceutical company’s team in India. He led his organization’s team through strict deadlines as they worked toward approval for what would become Keytruda—a milestone that required nearly five years of dedication and resulted in significant impact on patient care.

Mr. Sharma’s educational background has been instrumental in shaping his professional journey. He initially completed undergraduate studies at Kendriya Vidyalaya in 1999. He subsequently earned an advanced diploma in hospital management from All India Council of Management Studies in 2002 and a Bachelor of Medical Microbiology in medical clinical sciences from Santosh University in Ghaziabad in 2004, equipping him with a strong foundation in biology, medical sciences and allied health disciplines. He later graduated with a Master of Business Administration in biotechnology management from Amity University in India in 2006, which provided him with expertise in commercializing scientific advancements for patient benefit. Mr. Sharma has continued his professional development through certifications such as Impact Day from Deloitte, which were obtained consecutively in 2024 and 2025.

Mr. Sharma’s expertise was built upon by his participation in international scientific conferences held in Delhi during his Master of Business Administration coursework, where he engaged with global experts on topics such as intellectual property rights related to biotechnology commercialization. Notably, he received an award from the Department of Biotechnology in India in 2005 after being nominated by his university for contributions as an MBA student. Mr. Sharma has accepted multiple accolades recognizing his contributions throughout his career including Oracle Health Sciences Connect from HCL Technologies in 2019 and the Best Internet of Things Transformation Award in 2016 for collaborative projects spanning Singapore and the United States during a period of rapid technological evolution.

Mr. Sharma’s commitment extends beyond his professional achievements into civic engagement and volunteerism.
