Before launching her consulting company, Dr. Sulaimon was a senior clinical research program manager at Medtronic, a medical equipment manufacturing company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Working out of the organization’s Santa Rosa, California, location from 2021 to 2025, she played a pivotal role in advancing the company’s cardiovascular device portfolio. Among her most notable achievements was securing approval for a comprehensive medical devices program in Europe, which included approval for over 50 devices and over 50 technical files. Dr. Sulaimon also dedicated significant effort to mentoring and coaching undergraduate students, fostering the next generation of professionals in her field.
Affiliated with Medtronic for over 15 years, Dr. Sulaimon was first hired in 2007 as a principal scientist and research and development scientific consultant. In 2012, she pivoted by contributing as a principal clinical research specialist at Medtronic. From 2016 to 2017, Dr. Sulaimon served as a principal medical writer, then became a medical writing manager between 2017 and 2021, overseeing a team of skilled medical writers involved in the coronary and structural heart product portfolio.
Besides her work in the field, Dr. Sulaimon taught as an adjunct faculty instructor at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California, from 2006 to 2007. In this academic role, she shared her knowledge with students, demonstrating her commitment to education and mentorship. Notably, Dr. Sulaimon taught introductory and advanced levels of microbiology to students and conducted labs with them. Additionally, she provided career counseling and mentorship to students in the allied healthcare program.
Possessing a rich educational background, Dr. Sulaimon achieved numerous degrees, including a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Maiduguri, a Master of Science in biomedical sciences and a Doctor of Philosophy in biomedical sciences from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Davis. Her academic background is also distinguished by a postdoctoral fellowship, completed at the University of California, Davis, in 2005. These educational achievements have provided a strong foundation for Dr. Sulaimon’s career, equipping her with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in research, clinical development and regulatory affairs.
Dr. Sulaimon is an active member of industry-related organizations, including the Women in Leadership Program and the Society for Human Resource Management. Her involvement in these groups reflects her dedication to professional development and leadership within the medical technology community.
