During her tenure at AstraZeneca, Ms. Loftus weathered three layoffs, a testament to the value placed on her and her abilities. As a chemist by training, she is skilled at communicating with doctors on their level. Her strong understanding of biology and chemistry has enabled her to navigate complex medical discussions, significantly enhancing her effectiveness in sales.
Before her tenure at AstraZeneca, Ms. Loftus worked as a silicone sales representative for General Electric Silicones, now known as GE Sealants under General Electric Company and Henkel Corporation, from 2002 to 2003. In this role, she managed sales territories across Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee and Pennsylvania. Ms. Loftus’s natural affinity for working with people helped her succeed in sales.
Ms. Loftus began her professional journey in research and development as a senior research associate at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati from 1990 to 2001. During her tenure, she contributed to innovative projects and maintained strong ties with the company. Notably, Ms. Loftus remains engaged with Procter & Gamble through an organization that convenes biannually to discuss company updates.
Possessing a rich educational background to support her career, Ms. Loftus began by earning an Associate of Arts in liberal arts and sciences with a focus on liberal studies from Cottey College in 1987. She then completed a Bachelor of Science in natural science with a concentration in chemistry from Mount St. Joseph University in 1989, followed by a Master of Science in cosmetic science from the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati in 1994.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Loftus is deeply committed to civic engagement and volunteerism. Since 2000, she has been an active member and volunteer teacher for the Kids Club Sunday School kindergarten program at her local church. She also supports and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity International and local soup kitchens, reflecting her dedication to community service. Furthermore, Ms. Loftus is affiliated with Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization that assists more than 20 million people in need each year.
Among her most notable achievements was Ms. Loftus’s induction into the AstraZeneca Circle of Excellence in 2022, an honor that included a celebratory trip to Rome. She has also received several special incentive awards from AstraZeneca, further underscoring her professional excellence.
Ms. Loftus attributes her professional success to her motivation, which has driven her to excel in each role she has held. Looking ahead, she plans to retire and continue pursuing her personal interests and family activities with her husband and four children.
