Scott Hanlon, associate broker at Powell Property International Group, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in real estate.
Before beginning his 35-year professional journey in real estate, Mr. Hanlon worked for Days Inn immediately after finishing college. Working in the company’s quality assurance department, he traveled around the country, visiting and evaluating different hotels and motels. While regularly speaking with franchisees at these different locations, Mr. Hanlon learned about how these businesses operated and noticed that many of the franchisees had experience in real estate. He soon found himself inspired to pursue commercial real estate.
After earning his real estate license, Mr. Hanlon began his first job as a commercial real estate sales associate with Peachtree Crossing in the late 1980s. In 1990, he became an associate broker at King Industrial Realty Inc., where he would remain for 15 years. During that lengthy tenure, Mr. Hanlon was promoted to vice president, demonstrating the quick growth of his expertise in the field. He went on to contribute as a broker at Bader & Associates for five years. When Bader & Associates was acquired by Keller Williams in 2010, he shifted into the role of an associate broker at that company’s commercial real estate division, KW Commercial.
Since 2018, Mr. Hanlon has served as an associate broker with Powell Property International Group. While broadly specializing in commercial real estate for small- and medium-sized companies, he has worked with buyers, sellers, tenants and investors. Mr. Hanlon has experience in helping to buy and sell offices, warehouses, distribution facilities and manufacturing facilities. He has also handled land sales, including helping clients navigate the complexities of zoning law and development challenges. Mr. Hanlon focuses on the northern and northeastern sectors of the metropolitan Atlanta area.
Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Hanlon built a foundation for his future success through his education. He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and marketing management from Shorter University in 1982. Subsequently, he earned his real estate broker and sales agent license from the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
Mr. Hanlon has been a member of several important organizations relevant to his field. He was previously affiliated with the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors’ Million Dollar Club. Mr. Hanlon has maintained his membership with North Gwinnett Kiwanis for 15 years, including a paste tenure as the group’s president. He is also active with the Lanier Forsyth Rotary Club, the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and the 400 North Association of Realtors.
To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Hanlon was presented with the Phoenix Award by the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors for five consecutive years. Among his most noteworthy projects, he is especially proud of having installed irrigation on 1,200 acres of land in Buford, Georgia. Mr. Hanlon also fondly recalls the first lease he ever closed on, which was signed at his client’s kitchen table. Most recently, he sold 200 acres of land in Forsyth County, Georgia.
Outside of his work in real estate, Mr. Harlon is a devoted husband and a loving father to one daughter. He enjoys traveling, playing tennis, boating and generally spending time at lakes. Mr. Harlon remains committed to continued success with Powell Property International Group, with the goal of growing the company’s commercial real estate business. He looks forward to managing larger transactions with a bigger client base in the future.
