Will Durrett, manager at Durrett Cattle and associate broker at Republic Ranches, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in cattle, ranching and real estate.
Mr. Durrett has spent his whole life working in the cattle industry, a business his family has been involved in since the 1950s. He officially joined his family’s company, Durrett Cattle, as a manager in 2003. In this role, Mr. Durrett oversees seven full-time employees but also performs hands-on labor himself, utilizing what he calls an “owner-operated mindset.” Among other responsibilities at Durrett Cattle, he feeds and vaccinates cattle, makes health decisions for the animals and manages marketing for his cattle.
Beginning in 2012, Mr. Durrett took on additional duties as a marketing representative for Superior Livestock Auction. As the largest cattle marketing network in North America, this organization has allowed cattle owners around the United States to buy and sell through auctions for over 35 years. Through Superior Livestock Auction, Mr. Durrett assists with marketing cattle for approximately 100 customers located in Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. He notes one major career highlight in this capacity: He once sold and delivered 25,000 head of cattle in just one year.
Further building on his expertise in the ranching industry, Mr. Durrett joined Republic Ranches as an associate broker in 2024. This is another aspect of his professional life that arises from his family history; his father has been a licensed real estate broker since 1979. As part of Republic Ranches, Mr. Durrett helps facilitate land sales primarily in Texas, as well as recreation and wildlife management. He has also spearheaded the company’s expansion into new states, with exciting real estate projects in the works for the near future.
Mr. Durrett’s ranching knowledge extends beyond cattle as well. He and his wife also raise quarter horses on the ranch, currently housing 15 to 20 mares and a stud horse. Well-regarded for the quality of their horses, Mr. Durrett and his wife have been invited to such prestigious events as the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and the Western Heritage Classic. Their stud horse is showcased and available for breeding at the iconic Four Sixes Ranch in Guthrie, Texas.
As a commitment to his field, Mr. Durrett has been active with several industry-related organizations. Most notably, he is a lifetime member of the Wild Sheep Foundation, through which he supports initiatives for improvements to sheep habitats. Mr. Durrett also maintains membership in the New Mexico Cattle Growers’ Association, the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and the New Mexico Farm & Livestock Bureau. He earned a Bachelor of Science in geology and environmental studies from Baylor University in 2003.
Beyond his extensive career, Mr. Durrett is a devoted husband and a loving father to two sons. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, scouting wildlife, participating in sports and church activities, volunteering with youth groups, and helping his sons to complete 4-H projects. While remaining dedicated to his work with Durrett Cattle and Superior Livestock Auction, Mr. Durrett expects to focus increasingly on his real estate endeavors with Republic Ranches in the coming years.
